I think that it's best to have an outsider to look at people's situations because they do not have any feelings towards the people involved and they don't know them, so most of the time, what they say is the most appropriate.
I understand that I am only 18 years old, so I admit that I don't have as much knowledge and experience as other agony aunts/uncles, and there will be some topics (E.g..divorce) that I will have hardly any knowledge on, but when answering questions like that I try to use some common sense as well as any knowledge :)
