tennisstar88 agony auntWhat's the point of trimming? If your going to go through that trouble with a trimmer, why not just shave it all off? The bumps and itch that's what the medicated cream is for. Besides what guy wants to have some stubbly hair scratching him in the face?

Trim and wax.

its not itchy and it lasts longer.

and for the pain? whats half a second of a small pain compared to the great outcome it gives?

The Realist agony auntI prefer saved because it makes oral so much more pleasant to give. In saying that though I have to add that I also shave and stay well groomed. I could never ask for the effort to be put in for the girl to do that if I wasn't willing to myself. Shaving does present problems but you could also go for waxings or do an in home kit.

I disagree with the "In America" comment! We're a pretty cosmopolitan bunch and had this discussion on a girls night out recently and pretty much everyone went for the shave/lazer the sides (so no swim suit issues!) and then just a good trim elsewhere for partner courtesy (with them doing like wise). None of our boyfriends/hubs apparently have a problem with this ;)

Also personally I think all shaved is a bit weird - like the other responder said, who wants to look like a 10 year old? (Plus scratching regrowth is so unladylike lol)

Well to me I don't mind a little hair, but heck I don't want a rain forest. Trimming it would be best, as well, shaving would be sometimes painful, itchy etc...

person12345 agony auntI don't, it's itchy and a huge pain in the butt. I only trim it, and that's mostly a courtesy for my boyfriend (he does the same). I find the whole culture requiring women to shave it's a little weird (hair is natural, everyone has it. Why should we if they don't?). I don't have any desire to look like a 10 year old.

I prefer trimmed. THere's nothing worse than having to stop sex because of an ingrown hair

misfitschik66 agony auntSome woman prefer to shave some woman don't prefer to shave..i go on what my fiance wants..

if he wants me to shave i will if he doesn't i don't

Alot of people may say "ew not shaving is gross"

but it really is not back in the 60's that was the "thing" it was considered very sexy to be "wooly" down there

if you keep is clean down there honestly there is nothing wrong with having it unshaven

the first time i shaved it was VERY itchy it will be for a first few times

eventually if you shave often it will stop getting itchy

use a clean razor blade and LOTS of shaving cream(but make sure you don't get any of that cream inside you or you'll get a bad infection, skin irritation or a UTI)

i hope my advice helped XoXo

A female reader, tennisstar88 United States +, writes (24 August 2010):

tennisstar88 agony auntIn America, yes it's pertinent that women shave down south. You can get it waxed, Brazilian wax where they get all of it including your bum, or repeatedly shaving in the shower. Now, I'll tell you if I'm not in a relationship or sexually active then I let that bush grow wild, lol. Hey, women get lazy. If your not a hairy one then I suggest waxing, however if your like me I got dark hair and I get a 5 o'clock shadow down there then I would go with shaving daily. Make sure you use a moisturizing shave gel, or you can use conditioner for less razor bumps. Do use an aftershave medicated cream or gel afterwards.
