writes: whats the quickest way to lose weight?im 14, size 12 and weigh 11 stone and i hate the way my body looks. everyone around me and most of my friends are thinner than me and i hate being the big one. ive tried loads of diets but none of them seem to work. i exersise and i dont eat rubbish food so i dont see why i cant lose weight. can anyone give me some advise ?

reader, anonymous, writes (4 September 2007): hey when i was 14 i was 12 and a half stone and a size 16 now i am 18 and i am a healthy size 8-10 weighing 8 stone. the only thing i did was watched the amount of cakes chocalate crisps biscuits etc i ate. now i have realised all the times i was upset at your age about being the big one out of me and all my mates i was being silly because in my case alot of it was puppy fat, your still growing you will find half that weight will go as you grow into a proper womens figure. hope that might of helped put your mind at rest in some way.

reader, anonymous, writes (27 August 2007): hey , i am in exactly the same situation as you but the only problem is that i weigh 12 stone and i am 14 years old. I have to wear size 16 clothes and i am so ashamed ! I try to lose weight but it never seems to help and i am so desperate to get down to a size 10! You are lucky that you are size 12 because my sister is a size 12 and she is the slimmest in our family! If i was you, i would try to get out as much as possible and go for a walk or a run whichever you prefer and then gradually make the distance longer. I also heard of a new way of losing weight which did work on a friend of mine but it didnt work with me but ill tell you just incase : Add up every single calorie that you have in 1 whole day then minus 500 off of that amount, then eat the new amount of calories per day for 2 weeks and see what happens.If you have lost weight but you don't think you have lost enough then you can carry on, just make sure you don't make yourself ill. I would propably stop after about 3 weeks because your body won't be used to it x hope it works for you xxxxxx

I think it is celery that when you eat it you use more calories eating it than it actually gives you. I believe the same can be said for lettuce. Nevertheless it is not much fun living on rabbit food and at a size twelve at the age of 14 you sound like you are more or less perfectly sized. Your friends sound a bit skinny though. Providing you are eating a sensible amount and you are eating good whiolesome food then you should have no worries about your physical future. We all hit adolescence at differant times and it sounds as if you have hit it earlier than your friends - that's the way it goes. If you aim for a calorie intake of around the two thousand mark and dropping to about seventeen hundred daily if you wish to loose a little then you cannot really go wrong. In your shoes I wouldn't be in too much of a rush to loose weight though, you sound really gorgeous by what you have said about yourself so just wait for a few months for your skinny peers to physically catch up with you and then you will wonder what all the fuss was about. Maybe they would be jealous of you then. Actually there is part of me that thinks that they may well be a little jealous of you at the moment which may be why you are feeling a little pressured.Don't try to be like them - when you try to be like somebody else you will only ever be second rate them. Be yourself and be a first rate you instead.

Hey, you are 14 and a size 12 which is nothing to be ashamed of!! I was at your age and all my friends were a size 8 or smaller. But I found that I looked more feminine for my size (no offence to those who are skinny). At this age you should be concentrating on school and having fun with your friends. You are not obese or even overweight at that size so don't obsess over it!! It can lead to worse things if you do. Just follow the advice of the others here in regards to healthy eating and gentle exercise!!

Nutrition. You cannot physiologically gain weight unless you take in more calories than you burn. You have to eat low glycemic foods, and proteins. Their are several weight loss plans that works, I found an atkins like diet to work wonderful to lose pounds and kick the metabolism into high gear within 3 to 4 weeks. You cannot cheat on these diets and expect them to work. That means no soda pop, no liquor, no carbs for 3 to 4 weeks depending upon weight loss goals and your health. Then you start to reintroduce fresh vegetables and fruits slowly (low glycemic foods) They can work, but you have to be willing to make a lifestyle change, meaning you have to change the way you eat and the way you excercise. You will love yourself in the end. Your self esteem will be higher, and people will be noticing you. An old man was asked how he lived to be so old, his answer "run for your life". Love life and be happy, it's too short not to. The alternative is feeling lousy, sluggish and maybe even ending up a diabetic.

your still growing hun and people grow at different rates it seems to me like your keeping yourself healthy by keeping fit and eating well which is more than most 14 year olds do so well done and keep it up are u taller tha them? this could also be a factor there is nothing wrong with you babes keep your chin up and start to love yourself lisax

you are proberly just going through puppy fat, (you body gains fat and then develops hips and boobs.) after about a year puppy fat does disapper, it dosent stay forever!i dont think you should diet at just 14, iys not good for you because your growing into a young women! be proud of who you are!

There is no way for you to lose weight quickly. The human body does not rapidly change. The best that things that I can recommend change your diet to mostly green leafy vegetables. Also, keep on excercising. If you eat salads with low-fat dressings for the majority of your meals, and continue to excercise then the weight will drop off. Also, watch what you drink. Cut down on the soda and juice, and drink water and low-fat or skim milk. You have to remember that it took you 14 years to reach your present size, and you will not be able to lose your weight overnight. If you continue to eat a healthy low calorie diet and you continue to excercise, eventually you will lose your excess wieght.

reader, anonymous, writes (29 July 2007): Lipotrim. google it, its a way to loose wait really fast but.. depending on your height (so i can caculate BMI) you wont be able to use it.... its only used with people for age for extreme cases. You drink shakes instead of meals (which reportedly are so disgusting that even though you are starving are very difficult to force down).Lipotrim is a severe weight loss regime, originally devised specifically for people with a lot of weight to lose - over 3 stone. It is available to those who have much less to lose now however.
