I am 13 and a 32DD. I am a UK size 6 and only 5'1" so it makes them seem bigger. I would much prefer to have smaller boobs though. Old guys stare at my boobs when I go out and in my class i am "the girl with the boobs". I would prefer to have smaller boobs. But they aren't too big so don't worry. Xx

A female reader, Nikki-chan United Kingdom +, writes (20 July 2008):

Nikki-chan agony auntHmm, I really don't think it's too big, cause I'm a 34D, 16 years old, but also UK size 10/12, so I'm balanced out.

They may appear bigger depending on your body type (Like, if you have big breasts, but a smaller lower half), but if you do feel uncomfortable, you can always appear balanced out by sticking to neutrals on top, but wear brighter clothing, or even patterns, on bottom.

Like a few mentioned, hormones and your genetic background are definitely involved.

If you get harrassed by people because of your larger breasts, then please tell someone you trust, you will feel loads better.

It's completely fine

I'm 17 and am a 38E, when I was 15 I was 38DD!

Just learn to live with it is all I can suggest; if it gets too much in future you can consider surgery, but that's a last resort really!

A male reader, anonymous, writes (6 June 2008):

I can tell you for sure that you have a feature that many women can only dream of. Consider that before any hasty decisions DD is a large cup size and you need to be careful when picking out bras for sports and the like because your chest probably weighs a good 15 lbs or better. That can be a MAJOR strain on your lower back trying to keep them steady. How tall are you? a taller person is likely to have a worse time with a bigger bust because of the leverage it has on your back. Take extra good care of your back, stretch a lot, and wear a bra to sleep (any will do, just a comfortable one with good support) it will help give your back rest by holding them firm. It should also keep them from becoming saggy! Good Luck!

A female reader, anonymous, writes (24 April 2008):

actually, my mom works with breasts, and thinks large breasts for children 14-17 is just natural due to hormons & the water- or something like that, i dont really care about the breast size, but i do think they are for feeding children, but if it bothers you that much, if you feel safe doing so- you can email my mom and talk to her about it.

There is nothing wrong with large Breasts, in fact you should be happy with boobs that size at you age. Let the small breasted girls get jealous of what you have.

A male reader, anonymous, writes (12 April 2008):

Actually, breast are for feeding babies AND for mens pleasure. Same as why hips are attractive. Men big breasts and hips with birth and raising babies, ergo, we get aroused. Oh, and no having big breasts at a young age is not unhealthy but very unnatural. Be happy with what you have, you can have your pick in men:)

A reader, anonymous, writes (25 March 2008):

Well, my wife said that she begs to differ with the anon one. She thinks that hers are for the enjoyment of both of us. Yes, that's not what they're designed for, but she loves it when I fondle and carress them. It feels good for her and me both, so what is wrong with doing it. Oh, and she is a not quiet full 34C (US sizing).

I'm a 32E and your age, and I'm thinking of reduction surgery to be honest. Guys give me too much attention for them, I just want them to know me. Plus they'll get saggy if you're not careful!

I wouldn't encourage you to change them unless you're really unhappy about.

I am a 38DD also and I am 15. I don't think it's too big for my body type, I happen to be really tiny. But you can wear an unpadded bra to make your breasts look smaller and black will definitly hide the full size of them too.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (22 October 2007):

I think as long as its not causing discomfort its not too big. I can understand why you might not like it, being in the same position as you are. I think that the worst thing about it is that other people make a big deal out of it. I think you should just be happy with what you have because other girls would kill for it.

A female reader, Pork Hock Canada +, writes (9 May 2007):

First of all this is no panic to get a breast reduction as so many do in N. America. I was the same size at 15/16. I look back at photos and this and think GOD! Now I am proud and happy with my healthy boobs, no surgeon messing on, no scars etc. My friend was 5ft 6 with a 40 EE chest. Imagine the pain and yes she was a good candidate for breast reduction. It was painful, she has terrible scars and has no sensation there at all. I am now a 36 D, had baby and I am 5ft 1 ". I watched my Mum have a boob removed due to breast cancer and I've seen my friend feel unattractive and carved up after breast reduction. Learn to find the right clothes that is suitable to your shape. I bought the Not what to wear book from the UK and found out exactly the cut, shape and colours I should be wearing from just reading a book. Don't do breast reduction, be happy in your skin everything. I don't have perfectly straight teeth either but I know they are all mine and they haven't cost me the Earth.

eyeswideopen agony auntOnce you reach your twenties and if your breasts cause you any discomfort you can get a breast reduction done. Some insurance companies will cover a reduction if the doctor can prove patient discomfort.
