I think I have the EXACT symptoms you have described with my periods. I get a sharp pain on the right side of my abdomen, with a general dull pain in the whole area, spreading to my lower back and inner thighs. I ONLY get this on the first day of bleeding, and then just a dull ache the following day or two.
My coping advice is this:
Count 28 days from your last period, so you can be prepared for the next one. I usually make sure that I have no plans that are too energetic, because I cannot see myself doing hardly anything on the first day or two of bleeding.
My periods always start first thing in the morning, so the moment that I notice that I've started bleeding, I take some paracetamol, even though the worst of the pain has not yet begun. It's important to take it BEFORE the pain gets really bad, otherwise it's hard to relieve.
This should take off a lot of the strain, but I usually drink a warm drink (NOT anything with caffeine because that makes it worse) like lemon tea, and have a hot water bottle to hug to my abdomen.
The only other thing I can suggest is to just try to sleep it off, which is difficult when you're hurting like that.
Hope this is useful for you.
Best wishes!

well this does seem strange, i think you should go visit your gp because its better to have an expert's opinion on this subject. Because it might be something serious like Endometriosis which could get better on its own or you should definatly get treatment for it. However it might just be normal for you and the pains will become easier to deal with as time goes by. However its better to be safe. good luck

Hey. Poor you! My best friend gets these problems and she went to the doctors because the pain was so bad that she was physically being sick.I suggest that you go to the doctors, there's probably nothing wrong at all. Some women get unbareable pains during their periods so I suggest you talk to the doctor about it. He'll probably give you some medication to take during your period.Try not to worry hun. A lot of women gets aches and pains during that time of month.x

Go to the doctor or see a nurse. Ask to see a female if you are embarrased and they WILL help you.Periods are with you along time so don't put up with what you don't have to.As you get older they often get easier.Try taking ibruprofen (eat something first though) or paracetamol and have a warm bath.

okay, lets see. do you track when your period is supposed to start? if you dont you should. from the day your period ends start counting until you reach 28 days and around that time is when you should start. once you figure out when you are supposed to start take 2 aleve pills the nnight before. it is ok if you take them for 1 or 2 nights. when you start your period the next day you wont feel the pain. you say that it hurts when the blood comes out. the feeling in your tummy is your muscles contracting. and if you worried about anything else about your period make an appointment with a doctor and just tell them your symptoms. But I hope the 2 aleve will help with the pain. I know it hurts. I hate being a woman during that time of the month.
