Tisha-1 agony auntDid you ever get this treated? This was six months ago, what did the doctor say about this?

A female reader, old-spinstah United Kingdom +, writes (4 December 2009):

No we can't tell you about medications because we're not sure what the problem is. There are lots of things it can be and these problems take different treatments. If I thought it was one problem and told you to take a certain medicine and I was wrong - you could end up getting really sick AND your urine troubles would get worse too.

Also, medications vary from country to country. Things that are available here might not be available in UAE and might even be banned. It's likely that, whatever your problem is, the medication will only be available from a doctor - we are not doctors on this site.

Drinking plenty of water may help relieve the pain and drinking cranberry juice may help with the symptoms a little but they WON'T clear it up.

Go to you doctor!!! (Or I'll smack you!)

Tisha-1 agony auntHere's a partial list of what it could be from the webmd.com symptom checker tool: hemophilia, urinary tract infection, kidney infection, bladder cancer, hydronephrosis, polycystic kidney disease, bladder stones, chlamydia, interstitial cystitis, pre-leukemia, thrombocytopenia, trichomoniasis, endocarditis

Phone the doctor. Now.

Tisha-1 agony auntMy dad had blood in his urine and it turned out to be bladder cancer. Blood in your urine is not normal and should be checked out ASAP. His particular kind of bladder cancer at the time had about a 10 year survival rate of 30 percent. Thank goodness he was in that 30 percent.

Get it checked out; don't take stupid chances with your health.

A reader, anonymous, writes (3 December 2009):

lots of liquids, juice such as cranberry or cranberry mixed with something else. No soda (coke etc) milk, or tea. That is what the doctor told us. Above all water, and drink a Lot. If it is a stone and can be passed, or an infection, this will help. If it is a stone it will eventually cause a lot of pain in the side/back. It will become unbearable. It reduced my husband who has a very high pain tolerance to a man rolling in the floor. If it is an infection it can cause achiness in the lower back. dull pain...possibly a temperature. Ive never heard of it causing sterility.... Good luck, mal

There are no home remedies, because we don't know what it is. You must drink water though, and you must see a doctor.

Honeygirl agony auntGo off to the dr - sounds like a urinary tract infection and will not get better on its own... you need to find out why you have this infection, could be as a result of kidney stones... drink lots of water to help relieve the burning sensation but you MUST get to a doctor.
