Well, of course the OP should name her baby anyway she wants, no doubt about that.
I just wonder if she knows about the origin of the name , its meaning. The creator of the original cartoon chose it as the girlie version of " mortician " - funeral director .
And mortician refers to " mortum "- Latin for "dead " or "dead body ".

Patrick is fine but pls. don't call a girl Morticia, she would get teased in grade school. In fact , I would choose a not only tease-free but also hassle- free name, something really classic, simple and normal.
I am a Cynthia - nothing too strange right ? Normal Anglo-Saxon name. Yeah but... I was born and raised in Italy and I remember having spent ALL my school years trying to explain teachers and classmates how to spell it and pronounce it correctly. To no avail, so at the end, exhausted, I gave up and went ( except than in signing official documents ) by the Italian form of it , Cinzia ( pronounce : Cheentzeeah)and got used to that. Fine, only that then I moved to USA where nobody was able to spell and pronounce correctly Cinzia- so it was back to Cynthia or Cindy for the next 15 years. Now I am in Italy again though... and by now I am so tired of name changes that I will only answer to " Hey, you " :)
Moral- sacrifice originality in favour of practicality, pick something local, easy and uncomplicated- John or Robert or Mary or Jane, your kid will thank you !

My name is Michael, and I'm a girl. I'm not telling you, "hey - name your baby after me!" - but my name is pretty awesome and my life has been exponentially more awesome having been named it. It is an excellent conversation starter, nobody ever forgets my name, and it has given me a sense of uniqueness through my life - hence pushing me to live up to the coolness of my name.
I worked with a girl once whose name was Rebecca - kind of a run of the mill name, very simple and classic - but her middle name was "Danger", and I thought that was so cool! I loved that she had this secret identity, kind of like a superhero or something. It made her a little extra special in my eyes.
I do have a friend named Mortisha, she goes by Tish for short, and I always thought that name was kind of unfortunate. It's pretty morbid. If that character in The Addams Family is really special to you, why not choose the name of the actress who played her that you like the most? You can choose Anjelica, Carolyn, Daryl in that case. Those are all much nicer names (at least in my opinion), or at least come with a lot less death-like connotations.
Good luck, sweet!

Please dont name your child Morticia! They will not love you for it when they are at school.
Think about your child, they need a name that they can take through childhood to adulthood so calling them something weird, which may suit a 4 year old may seem rather silly when they are 40.(Daisy Boo for example) I think too many celebrity parents name their kids silly names, but they dont think about the poor child or the teasing they will get at the hands of rude kids.
I agree with dmartin, something classic will never age or date them. Have you got any family names that are reoccuring? A favourite relative?
OR you could wait until your baby is born and see what kind of personality it has. Sometimes when you look at a baby, the way they act, or laugh or look like may give you some inspiration. Each child is a unique individual, some names may not suit them. I went to school with a girl called Pernilla, and she HATED it. When she was old enough she changed it to something a bit more suitable to her. You are not giving them a barcode, but the name that they will identify with forever. Its not just what YOU like, but what THEY will like later on.
Good Luck! :)

Morticia is a very loaded name, I'd be wary of using it. On the other hand according to the census bureau's website Howmanyofme.com there are about 1500 Morticias in the United states. Celebrity names are an interesting choice. I'm certainly glad my parents didn't chose Engelbert (for Engelbert Humperdinck). About 1500 of those too.
So ruling out Morticia and Elvira (45,000) Some celebrity names I like are Faith (44,000) (even though it is a virtue name) and Drew (39,000). On the Darker side there is Buffy (1400) or Laura (790,000) (for Laura Croft)
Among Men John (over 5 million)(for John Wayne or Travolta). Billy (390,000)is popular among musicians. You want to be careful about political tie ins though, also be wary of George (1.5 million) and Barak (1500).
Well enough of that fun. There are a lot of baby name web sites out there. As long as you don't name her Gertrude (160,000) Megatroid, or him Wolfgang (1500) Abernathy, I'm sure they will be fine.

Luke, Cecilia, Hannah...
The sound of the whole name together is also important. It's not like I like my name in particular, but I think my parents did good by me. If you have a long last name (3 syllables or over), a shorter first same sounds better with it. I believe the reverse is true with a short last name.
Also, alliteration can really help make the name solid sounding. Luke Loftin sounds alot better than Steven Loftin in my opinon. My name is alliterated similarly and it makes me sound much more impressive or at least put-together than I actually am.
I am also a sucker for graphs. I love this site and can spend hours just looking at names. It might help in your search:

You could do what the beckhams did, and name the baby after the place it was conceived in!!! Thank god he wasn't made in Peckham, London!!!
I always wanted my first born to be called Ellie if she was a girl, but one of my ex's best friends called his daughter Ellie.
As for boys names, I like Caleb (pronounced Kay-leb). I used to work with a Caleb, and he was quite a character.
Not into all these random names that celebs give their children either, if my mum and dad had called me Apple or Suri, I would have been very very angry with them!!!

There are so many names out there! You could name him/her after a favorite celebrity, or maybe even someone in the family, or even a close friend who means something special to you. My middle name was dedicated to a special friend of my mom's who passed away some years ago from cancer. If you find it hard deciding between names, make one the first name, and one the middle name. (If you want him/her to have a middle name.) So, the new names don't satisfy? Even I have to admit, names like Hudson, Landon, or girl names like Berkeley and Suzelle are sort of weird. First, I have to say that Morticia isn't a very attractive name! It looks to me like the word, mortician, after the morgue-keeper. Or the french root "mort" meaning dead. If I could suggest any names these are them:
Boys: Wesley, James, Jacob (Jake), Michael, Nicholas, Bryan, or Brian, Samuel, Kyle, Jordan, or Devin.
Girls: Allison, Lindsay, or Lindsey, Hannah, Taylor, Elizabeth, Evangeline, Laurie, Monica, or Monika, Jessica, Rebecca, Mary, or Anna.
If you're interested in newer names...
Boys: Dustin, Landon, Jameson, Hudson, Drew, Alecsandar, Blake, Josh, Sean, or Shawn, Cameron, Jackson, Alec, Dante, etc.
Girls: Zelda, Giselle, Keira, Maryashleigh, Melinda, Brittany, Courtney, Adeline, Sabrina, Savannah, Breanna, or Brianna, Hayley, or Hailey, Maya, and Killian.

Is there anyone special in your family whos name you like? How abouta name that reflects where you originate from? Your favourite colour, flower, place, song lyric or basically anything that means anything to you.
Personally i dont like all these modern weird "stylish" names, they are tacky.
I am british and i love classic names like harry, rose, james (jamie) evelyn (evie).
Do you want a longer name that can be shortened or a short name?
I love Evelyn becuase it sound professional for when she gets older and is recognisable as a respectable name, and evie is cute and short for when she is younger.
Dont give a name which they are going to be embaressed about!
