Good for you for being shocked. We need more young women to take a stand about the stuff that is mass produced and marketed to young girls. No, thongs are not appropriate for girls. If they want to try them once they are teenagers, well that's fine, but they are probably meant for girls to start wearing them at the age of 16 and older, better yet at age 21, frankly. When I think of thongs, I think "sexy lingerie", you should be at least 16 to wear lingerie. They do have a certain sexual appeal and we shouldn't encourage young children to wear them. Why introduce something sexy and sexual into the young girls market? To sell Stuff. It's up to the parents to put there foot down.

You wear g strings (appart from when you are in ligerie for your partner) so that you don't have a panty line in your jeans or skirts, so at what age do you think girls should be worried about looking that little bit sexy. Surely not until around 16. I realise thier are girls out there having sex younger than that but I personally think that is way wrong.

You should wear them when you're comfortable wearing them. Try them, you might not like them. You should not be however too anxious to let the boys see them up close and personal. Tight pants mean they can see them. Keep your goodies private for when you are ready for the right man to see them.

I think it is too young. Teenage girls everywhere are wearing really revealing things and their parents are somehow surprised when their daughters are having sex. The daughters and the parents wonder why they get pregnant, raped, or why guys think they're out for sex. Seems like a no brainer, but commons sense is no longer all that common.
