All weekend I eat whatever I want, then I weigh less or the same (110). but all 5 school days I workout hard and eat really healthy, then I weigh myself and I'm like 112! What's up with that! I really want to get back down to my old weight of 105 but my weight keeps tricking me like this. Why does my body make it so hard to lose only 5lbs! I'm 5'2 and 15 if that matters. By the way I don't eat all crazy every weekend, just this last one, but I've tested this out and it's always the same. Reply to this Question Share |

I can understand your fear but just eat sensibly and exercise a couple of times a week and you should easily maintain the weight you are now. If it starts to go up then you can begin to diet but just try and maintain the weight you are now.
Make sure you are getting all the vitamins and nutrients you need from your food (that means eating all the food groups and not missing out any e.g dont cut out carbs, dairy etc as your body needs them!). Eat lots of fruit and veg, try and keep your diet low in fat, if you are working out then you need lots of calcium and protein especially at your age because you are still growing and need to look after your bones!
If you do this sensibly then you will maintain the weight you are now and wont put any on (give or take a few lbs for muscle mass if you are working out). One thing to bear in mind, while muscle weighs more than fat, it also increases your base metabolic rate (how many calories you burn just by being alive) because muscle needs more calories than fat to function. Therefore if you are not getting enough calories then your body will start eating your muscle, and remember your heart is a muscle so you dont want to be on a very low calorie diet otherwise you will end up with heart failure.
Be sensible about this, and let your body grow and develop naturally please. You can worry more about this when you are 18-20 when your body has finished growing.
I hope this helps!

Well your update answered the problem. You aren't eating. If you dont eat your body goes into starvation mode and stores fat not knowing when it will get food again. You have to eat to lose weight.

Drinking only tea is not good for you, you will be having too much caffine! Water is the best thing for you to drink, it hydrates you properly and helps to flush out any toxins in your body i.e. caffine!
With regards to the fluctuations, 2lbs is just water weight. You should not be concerned by this. And if you are working out pretty hard then you will be putting weight on (in muscle that is). Try measuring yourself with a measuring tape instead of weighing yourself all the time. If you lose inches this will be a positive thing for you and will help keep you motivated instead of looking at the scales all the time.
5lbs is nothing really you shouldnt be so hung up on losing that bit of weight, while you are at such a young age your body is still developing all the time and your weight will flucutate on a regular basis. Once you get to about 18-20, then your body should stabilise at a weight it can maintain.
Try not to work out too much as while you are growing your bones are still slightly soft, hence too much exercise can lead to nasty problems later in life like Oesteoperosis. Work out 3 times a week maximum and eat healthy, and wait until your a bit older to figure out what weight you want to be.
I hope this helps!

Well, sometimes you have to eat to lose weight. Maybe during weekdays you're not eating enough and possibly over excersing. Sorry to say this, but at your age, you shouldn't worry about weight. 5'2 weighing 110-2lbs is not bad.
I'm 5'3 and now flucuate 125 - 130lbs. I did a lot of excessive dieting, working out and diet pills in my early 20s and that really messed up my body. Even at 110lbs, I wanted to lose 5lbs more.
Maybe consult a nutritionist, get the right advice and information. And the biggest thing, is being healthy, happy and comfortable with you.

your very young and your hormones are also fluctuating which makes it a difficult time either way. but as for comparing weekends and weekdays, thats not fat your putting on and loosing thats just your lifstyle, the way you eat, the water your carrying and your daily workload. everyone gains and looses a couple lbs on a daily basis without fat levels being effected, dnt look to deep into it just eat healthy and stick with your cardio, stress helps nothing, gudluk.
