Shaved does make it easier to go down on a woman. Im all for a thick bush but when im breathing in her hairs and picking her pubs from between my teeth...!
I have had partners who were completely shaved, slightly shaved, forgot to shave, had afro's, crew cuts and plaits down there but any and all are fine with me. The purple rinse was a turn off tho.
Hair also traps sweat and odour more than a shaved version.
Of course you could go for a half way house and have a little strip or a close trim. Or even a star or tram lines!
Do what you think best.

The only thing I can say is that when you are going down on a woman with the hair you do get it in your mouth, maybe thats a reason, but I really dont know

Men are not difficult creatures to figure out, they have no imagination and NEED visual porn to get off...bahaha! Do what you like darling, what is good for you and your pussy!! It's your body, you decide what design you want :)

Wheni was younger 25 years ago, no one shaved. And when I was dating heavily I felt even that I had to say to a guy I hope he doesn't mind that there's no hair Down there.usualy they didn't mind at all, but some expressed surprise whyi shave it.
Now everyone shaves. It's of course influence of porn. TV tells you what todo and how to look, and how to feel. Unfortunatelly. I think in this case if you are so sensitive stand your grounds. Your guy will get use to it. Just keep it trimed, clean,mi am sure you do, and he will stop noticing it.

Hello!
40 year old man here!
I don't know what the obsession is with shaving these days, but I prefer a woman to a little girl. Trim a little so it looks cute but don't shave it all off!

Yes, fashion and porn. Personally I came of age in the 70s so I prefer completely natural and wild. If it's groomed then it's expected that it will be seen, and that takes some of the thrill away. Plus bare makes me think pre-pubescent which turns me completely off. However I understand that body hair is out of fashion. We have a generation of men coming of age who had more access to porn than any other people in history and that, sadly, has shaped expectations.

Do you ask them what they prefer? Or do they volunteer this opinion? I would just gleefully assume that the man in bed with me was happy to be so.
Are these men professing a preference for no hair at all also hairless as well? As in, all hair removed from testicles as well? *ouch*
I would do the grooming that makes you feel good, doesn't cause major skin irritations and assume the best.
I'm guessing porn has set some unrealistic expectations in a lot of men. You could try the tactic of suggesting that if you remove all the hair that nature put there then he can remove all his hair that nature put there as well. It might give him a bit of a wake up call.

Try getting a bikini trimmer in the suprmarket, wilkinson sword make one and it is just like an aelectric razor. About £8 in the uk, you wont get any shaving rash like with a razor and it requires no shaving foam

That's what i did but now i just follow many diferent steps to make sure i dont get irritated skin. New razor every time men shaving gel unscented an then lotion afterwords with aloe in it.

But you live in Europe , Chigirl. Europeans are equally opportunity bushers, they allow you freedom of bush choice :).
In USA - not so much. Americans like their sex to be like their packaged food- hygienized, sanitized, odourless, tasteless, and each one with the same look and the same packaging as the other :).
I see that this trend, according to our OP in UK, has infected their cousins across the pond...
OP, if a) YOU prefer it natural, and B) you get very very irritated when you wax or shave... I guess that your man will be able to survive to his disappointment , and lead a happy , healthy life regardless of the styling of your pudenda. I've heard of worse disappointments.

Uhm, I think it's just a coincidence. All the men I've talked to so far about this prefer it natural.
Personally, I like the feeling of being completely shaved once in a while, because I am much more sensitive then, and I don't have to worry about him getting hair in his mouth. But then again, people are different. Tons of women like it bushy. But don't assume ALL men want it shaved just because you've run into a few who do.

Honestly, you should have it down there as you like it. Perhaps instead of growing it out, you can trim it (making it short) since entirely removing the hair leaves the skin feeling irritated. This way it will be short enough for you to feel it's natural and for it not to bother him. Good luck.

2. No darned hairs in your mouth. I certainly can't swallow these
3. You see more - men are very visual
But you don't need to shave completely bare, nicely trimmed with one of those battery shavers is just as good in my opinion.
But, I really don't think there are many men who will turn you down however you feel like looking, it's your body.

Just do whatever you feel comfortable with.
I guess they just like it bare because it's the stereo-type porn star way.
If, however, you would like to try a way to have it the way he wants, then my advice is to avoid shaving. Waxing is the way forward, (don't try it at home if you have sensitive skin!) but do go to a professional, as they can use wax designed for sensitive skin and if it is properly done it shouldn't irritate you. And you could surprise him by getting a vajazzle;)
However, if it still doesn't appeal to you, then just stay natural. If he respects you and loves you, he won't want you to change.

A

You should just do what you want, but if you want to change yourself to please your man, use an electric razor. Your skin won't get as irritated.

I think its because when there isn't any hair there, men can see it all. They can see it going in and out, and I think that kinda turns them on, also there of course is the false stigma which goes around stating that hairy vaginas are un-clean. However I 100% agree with Honeypie, do what you want, don't feel bad its your body, not his, if you don't want to shave then don't. Also back in the 60's the bush was all the rage, you were actually seen as weird if you did shave done there. I have no doubt in the next 10-20 years, there will be another false standard set when it comes to hair on woman, it might be all the rage next year for woman to go around with miniture hairstyles on there vaginas? Who knows. Just go with what you want to go with. :) x

The fad is for ANYONE to woman/man scape these days. And it's in all the porn these day too which sets another odd standard for women.
YOU have to go with what YOU PREFER.
I have never liked being all bald below, I think it looks prepubescent and I find it GHASTLY on a guy lol.
You could compromise and go with a landing strip (which is easy to maintain) and a weekly trim.
I don't shave my arms either, my pits and legs and because it's summer a bikini wax. I don't find body hair less attractive. Some do though. I still say GO with what YOU like.
Hair doesn't smell. It DOES however hold onto sweat odour more then skin.
