As long as makeup isn't disproportionally extravagant for the occasion then I personally don't have a problem with it.
For example, it's fine to wear as much glittery crap as you want to a high school ball, but if you're wearing it everyday and spending 3 hours in the bathroom applying it, that's when guys start to find it a tad ridiculous.

I appreciate the natural beauty of a woman, with minimal makeup that makes her look and feel good. A bit of powder, rouge so light most people can't tell it's on. Forget the mascara, eyeliner, eye shadow... etc.

It could be because guys want to touch your face and don't want makeup interfering. Kissing lip gloss is rather sticky and strange. It makes more sense that a guy wouldn't want to trace his fingers across one's concealer!
Perhaps there are some stereotypes involved when a girl wears too much makeup. Plus, it can be a mask. You can wear light makeup if you want and don't need a guy to approve!
To pop the eyes, mascara and eye shadow does the trick. Light colors during the day, and a little darker for going out in the evening. TTYL, Drkrosexox. ~Shapoopsy

Hi there. Yes, I agree with "Cerberus", in that sometimes girls think that unless they wear makeup they aren't attractive.
We all have nature beauty. As long as you look after your skin with proper cleansing and moisturising, and get plenty of fresh air and exercise and sleep well, you look fantastic! Also drinking 6-8 glasses of water every day helps stop dryness.
Most women look fine without any makeup, or at the very least a fine compexion evening out foundation that perfectly matches your skin colour, is all that is needed.
It probably does come down to a self esteem issue. But really less is definitely more.
On many occasions I have seen photos of young women before with no makeup and then after with quite a lot, and the "before" photo was much more flattering. It's a case of finding a happy medium.
Too much makeup is a bit like hiding behind a mask of some kind. It's a case of accepting yourself for who you are and loving yourself that way. Besides, true beauty comes from within.
Men probably just like their women to be as natural as possible and not artificial. That really is a great compliment. It's like saying - "You don't need makeup, you're fine just the way you are." Something to think about. It's very positive.
Best wishes.

I know from personal experience the load of sparkles don't do much for most guys, a cousin of my covered herself in glittery stuff from head to toe for a dance and my boyfriend and I just had to laugh when we saw her purple glitter from her dress was all over her date's suit and her sparkly lip gloss smeared all over his face. They broke up the next day when the guy found out his glittery picture was all over the school their back together now but still too much glitter and craziness is definitely a bad thing.I suppose less is more, a little lip gloss, some eyeshadow that compliments your eyes and a blush that matches your skin tone, at least that's what I go with, sometimes not even that much.

Personally a girl without cosmetics or little is more attractive to me.
However, some guys like it

We don't all hate make up, but we prefer that girls leave it for special occasions and not put on a full face just to leave the house.
We just hate the fact that most girls plaster it on. The nude look is what you should go for during the day and when going to something special then put on your beat up clown face.
The best makeup is makeup that doesn't even look like you're wearing any, highlights a feature naturally and not a big green blob above your eye.
It's basically the attitude it shows, the more makeup a woman wears the less confident and more insecure she is. That's the truth as far as we're concerned, if a girl needs to plaster her face with make up, it's because she wants hide her face and draw a new one over it. Makeup is used to hide or highlight, the more you use the more you're hiding.
The worst thing for us guys is when we see a girl that ruins her face with loads of makeup but you can tell underneath she is very pretty, but it's too hard to look past the orange powder caked onto her face.

I guess because guys just like there girls natural. Not all guys hate it.
But if you have a boyfreind then they probably would rather you not wear it. Because they find your naturally beautiful. They just dont understand, that girls like to wear it so that they feel good about them selves. They see it as, why wear it when you have a boyfirned that loves you just as much without it.
