I've tried Midol, Advil, and Alieve, but the only results i got were that the Advil and Alieve each worked once. Yesterday, i was so desperate i took two Midol and two Advil within probably ten minutes or less in between. It still didn't work. Today I'm trying Pamprin, hopefully it will work. But does anybody use a medication that works REALLY well for cramps? Because i'm tired of nothing working.Thanks! Your advice will really help

Before Aleve was available over the counter, my doc prescribed it to me for cramps. The trick is to start taking it 2 days before your period.
I eventually needed surgery, but I would take 4 pills every eight hours. That let's you know how totally messed up i was but it worked!

My God ! Tell me about it ! Annoying little buggars arn't they, got them right now haha (;
I use Feminax, you may of seen it advertised, its just paracetemol and codeine and its a couple of pounds. Nothing completley abolishes the pain for me but that's the best thing that has worked so far, my mums putting me on the pill asap because of them so why not chat to your mum about a visit to the docs?

Try a Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) such as Ibuprofen but make sure you read the instructions on the pack as these drugs don't agree with everyone.
Your doctor is the best person to ask as he knows what drugs are safe for you to take.
But in my experience as a medic, big brother and husband, I find, chocolate, a hot water bottle and some TLC normally eases the pain.

I'm sorry to tell you that nothing REALLY works!! The best thing to take is ibuprofen or motrin, they are the same thing so don't take more than 800mg every 8 hours. Try heating pads and if that doesn't work, try a cold compress. Sometimes one or the other works.Exercise sometimes helps even though it's the last thing you want to do. And last but certainly not least, calcium...drink milk or better yet, start a daily regimen of a calcium supplement (1300mg at least). Calcium has been proven to reduce menstrual cramps as well as water retention and mood swings...worth a shot!! :)good luck...cramps suck!! PS...if you have breast pain start taking evening primrose...I did and it works pretty good most months.
