writes: Hey, just a quick question. I know this isn't really a relationship question but the root cause of this is to do with my relationship. Anyway...would just like to know of anyones experiences when they have stopped taking microgynon 30. I was taking it for about 6months but its making me depressed. Just looking for peoples experiences, not medical opinions because I know you're not doctors. Thanks very much. X

reader, anonymous, writes (4 June 2009): I stopped taking microgynon 30 after a few months because i split with my boyfriend, and as the pills never actually had any ill-effects on me i didnt notice any difference. However if you were experiencing depression you should probly go back and see your doctor again so that they can recommend a more suitable contraceptive pill. And believe me, there are loads of different types!

hmm, I'm taking that now, I've found that I do get very hormonal & upset, especially within the 1st few days of taking it. I had depression last year & was taking it, although never questioned it could be a factor.

I haven't tried that one myself but there's microgynon 20 available - which is a lower strength version and therefore might have less of an impact on mood.If you've been feeling depressed you really should see a doctor though as medication effects everyone differently.
