I have a rather odd question. Do women generally find body hair unattractive? If so, where? I have wondered this for a long time, but I am too embarrassed to ask my friends or my family, lol.

I mostly just want to know what women think about hair and guy's shaving - yay or nay? Having a fellow man's viewpoint is cool too - do men generally look down on it?

I have seriously considered getting rid of like 90% of my body hair, but I wanted some other peoples viewpoint :).

Here is my advice:

If your back is hairy then shave it or go the painful route and have it waxed. Almost all woman hate hairy backs and expect you to shave it as they shave their legs for us.. A hairy chest is no big deal and many girls actually like it. Chicks younger then 20 tend to like a hairless chest but chicks 21 and up (especially chicks in their late 20's and up) actually like a hairy chest. They say it makes a guy more manly.

Just don't, DON'T shave down below. It's like having sex with a kid, and that is NOT a big turn-on for me. Mind you, if you're dating a peodophile, then maybe she won't mind...

A female reader, Tigerlily United States +, writes (8 October 2007):

I'm with hlskitten, I like men to be men! I LOVE chest hair on a man. I expect him to have hair on his arm pits, his legs, and definately down below... I actually get creeped out if a guy shaves it off down there. I want to feel like I'm with a man, not an adolescent boy. Trimming it a bit so it's not all wild caveman is okay, but don't DARE take it all off.

I like facial hair too, beards, mustache, goatee, all good. One thing I don't like though is that 5 o'clock scruff thing - it can look cool sometimes, but I don't want to put my face next to it. As a woman I want to be kissed, not scratched to pieces. Funny thing is once it gets a bit longer, like a goatee, it gets softer so then it doesn't scratch. Back hair is the only place I'd recommend getting rid of it - go for a wax or something. If I really like the guy I'll deal, but it's not the most attractive thing. I dated a guy once who shaved off the hair on his forearms -- I just thought that was weird.

Bottom line: You're a guy - be a guy! Keep it groomed, but leave it on!

hlskitten agony auntI like men to be men. And leave hair alone, apart from on their face and head. Im not too keen on facial hair, unless its a five oclock shadow through not shaving for a day or so. Or long hair. I like the grade 2 look. But i personally like a hairy belly and slightly hairy chest. Nothing too much, but NO shaving down there! Only trimming! There is nothing that turns me off more than a guy thats Naired his sack n crack! Sorry to be blunt!

But thats my 2 penneth worth seeing as you asked! :oD

L.O.S.E.R. agony auntWell...I couldn't possibly know what other women think...Guess it's commonly unatractive on the back or ass but legs, hands and chests are fine.I even used to think shaving is gay and it didn't seem to me like a macho stuff at all but wtf, time changes. It does feel better to have sex with a shaved guy (pubic hairs especially yay if he expects to get a blow job) and the coolest argument pro is that I always thought it's unfair wanting to have a shaved sex partner if you don't do it yourself-so go guys:)But,yet again Andy Garcia in his younger days I find extremely sexy even tho he had hairs everywhere. And lots of others...Actually hairs aren't "nay" but shaving is "yay",at least on my opinion. It's a meter of your own choice after all-girls definitely won't ever evaluate you by amount of hairs on your body...Oh well, except if theres plenty of them lol.Holla
