K me and my bf have been having sex 3 time and we now want to do it without a condom and we both got some information. That if you do it within a average of 14 days after your period its safe ,no getting pregnant. So id like to know if any of you tried it before and if it's safe? We don't want to use condoms anymore. Not one of us like it like that. So please help me. I want to do it without a condom but I don't want to get pregnant. And I'm not worrying about Aids or anything because we both are new to this. So we don't have that much experience. But I think it's better that way. I want lots of answers please. xx.

If you have sex without a condom whatever time of the month it is you could fall pregnant.
Why not book to see your doctor aboout going on the pill before thinking of having unprotected sex. Or there are other options other than condoms but go see a someone before you have sex.

Okay, what you're considering is called the "rhythm" method. You can Google it for better instructions. It has to do with avoiding sex during her fertile period. It can be effective for a while, but they frequently call people who use this method "Parents." If you're not willing to settle down and have a family then I don't recommend this method of birth control at all.
That said ... IF (and this is a big if) you are absolutely regular in your cycle -- that is you start your period 28 days after the 1ST day of your last period -- then this has a shot at working.
The first day of your period is day 1. You will ovulate around day 14. The egg will live for about 1 day. Sperm can live inside the body up to 72 hours. Therefore, no sex after about day 10 through about day 15 (16 to be even safer).
I REALLY don't recommend this method, but above are the facts.

Please don't go buying spermicides or any other stuff on your own. I'm the product of a spermicide. Pills are the most reliable although my ex boyfriend is the product of the pills. Condoms are a safer non prescribed method but my nephew is the product of an UNBROKEN CONDOM. So think about this. This is not a game you play because of what you've heard.

Well where you heard that it is safe, that is complete lies. YOU CAN GET PREGNANT ANY TIME WETHER YOU ARE ON YOUR PERIOD OR NOT. You are 16-17 and if you want a child then ok, but if not, go on the pill, implant or condoms or other type of contraception. That is certainly not a reliable way of contraception! 3 times is no way to only just decide to give up on them without using other forms of actualy safe contraception.

Ok, no offense, but you will end up pregnant by your method.
What you descirbed is something people do--especially if they are Catholics who follow the no contraceptive rule, planned pregnacy method. By watching your ovulatuon cycle, you can manage to have sex when your chances are least likely to get pregnant, but without any thing, no condoms, no pill, no patch, you are still at risk.
Since you are a teenager, I'm assuming your chances for sex are sporadic, due to when parents are not around, and you can't always have sex at a planned time. Also, since you are a teen, like me, your cycle is not set, sometimes it differs slightly from month to month, and if that is the case, you could end up having sex when you think you are "safe" and end up pregnant.
If you are truly against condoms there are many other types of birth control for YOU to use. You have the pill, the patch, the shot, the nuva ring, etc. If he and you both hate the condom, use something else.
Don't let yourself become another teen mother.
contact me here if you want to talk anymore or have more questions. Good luck and please do not have unprotected sex.

The only time this kind of method is recommended is for people in commited long-term relationships who would be ready to have children should a pregnancy occur.
It is also not recommended for younger girls because part of the method involves months of properly planning what the womens ovulation cycle is and carefully deciding what the safe days are.
That is why this method is not right for you and it is nowhere near as reliable as contraceptives are.
You two shouldn't even be thinking of having unprotected sex in this way as you would be very likely to become pregnant.
There are so many different types of contraceptive out there, I suggest you spend a little time researching them on the Internet, or speaking to a medical expert and deciding the form of contraceptive for you.

Hi,
Firstly i will start off by saying you can get pregnant any time of the month, it's just that certain times of the months it is easier.
Secondly you need to see your doctor as there are many different forms of contraception available to you to make sure you do not get pregnant.
Thirdly condoms might not be the nicest things to have to use but they are there for a reason, for your protection and it is very wise to use them no matter how new you both are to this.
Take care.xx.

reader, anonymous, writes (8 July 2007): There is a certain time during your cycle when you are infertile so you cannot become pregnant, but every woman's cycle is different making it very difficult to figure out when this day is. Most estimates about when this day is during your cycle are based around the average cycle of 28 days. Most likely yours isn't 28 days so that's not going to be accurate.
Why don't you think about going on birth control pills? They're 98-99% effective and that way you can have sex whenever you want instead of having to wait for that one day during your cycle which means you'll only get to do it once a month.
