There is nothing " horrific " about sex during periods. Some men are squeamish about blood , and that's ok, obviously they should not be forced to go against their inclinations.
But sex involves anyway body fluids and secretions and other intimate stuff : sweat, saliva, sperm...
By this token, one should label as horrific and disgusting also oral sex, or French kissing. If you ,or he,don't like something, just don't do it, but please do not make it sound,or think of it, as if it were some shocking criminal practice.
As for " chumming ", personally I don't find anything hilarious in this choice of word, and I am pretty sure you'll change name for your periods once you find out what it really means.( And, btw, in slang it also used for " stinking up a place "...."

OP you need to get a hold on yourself!! I mean come on...so you had sex on your periods...BIG DEAL!! Its not "horrific " in any way and stop treating it like something bad. Its not like you committed a crime or something. Periods happen to every woman and its normal and natural and nothing to be ashamed of. You're just over reacting and unless you are comfortable with it(which you clearly are not), how can you expect your BF to be so?
If on the other hand your BF is grossed out by this fact, then you cant do anything about it but just let him be and deal with it himself.
And yes, you CAN get pregnant while on your period.

Burning sensation sounds like urinary tract infection. You'll need to see a doctor for it. It often happens when you have unprotected sex with a new partner. Use a condom next time.
Yes, you can get pregnant every time you have unprotected sex. Chances of pregnancy vary, but unless you're a professional at diagnosing when you're most fertile or not, don't even try to calculate safe periods. Calculating safe periods is difficult and time consuming, and even then it has it's risk percentage. Just use a condom at all times.
Especially if you are to have sex while on your period, it'd be nice to wear a condom. Just so the guy doesn't have to get blood on his penis, but can stay "clean" within the condom. It takes away some of the gross-factor.
Maybe he just needs a bit of time to get over what happened. But he shouldn't treat you any less than before, it was his choice as well to have sex while you are on your period. Try to cuddle more with him and see his reaction, then tell him it hurts your feelings if he pulls away.

I'm sorry... Chumming???? I have no problem discussing anything but CHUMMING???? You know, as women, we have enough issues about our bodies and our periods without using a term like CHUMMING to discuss our periods. Holy Honking Hell.
Yes. You can get pregnant when you are having your period because you are HAVING SEX WITHOUT A CONDOM.
And for the same reason, you can contact STI's.
You could actually only be having an allergic reaction to his sperm, but you won't know until you get properly checked out by an OB/GYN and I hope they yell at you for having unprotected sex as well. Use two forms of birth control, including one barrier method, until you are married.
Finally, some guys are freaked out, some guys don't care, every guy has his own opinion about sex during a menstrual cycle. You are going to have to suss that one out by yourself, because there is no right answer to that, only personal feelings about it.
CHUMMING?
Gross.
