Everyone has something on their body that they don't like. If your boyfriend loves you he wont say anything. If it will make you feel better why not show him them, say to him that your worried about them and you want his advise to go to the doctor or not, that way he won't joke about them he'll be sympathetic.

reader, anonymous, writes (17 March 2011): They are either stretch marks or actual veins! I have both, you can see my veins really clearly! But i have stretch marks too.
First of all, they almost everyone in the world has them, and second of all they get a lot less noticeable as they get older. When they are fresh mine were purpley and now they are normal skin colour and you can only see them in a certain light! (im 23 btw... they took about a year to fade mostly and about another 5 to get to where they are now!)
and secondly, guys dont seem to notice them, and if they do, they dont mind them! :)

 yeah, they sound like stretch marks. I have them on my hips too, and all the boys i've been out with they haven't minded. you can get some cream hat helps them fade or makes them go away. yeah i agree i'd wait to have sex for a little while longer =P

Those are probably stretch marks a.k.a. straie. I got them too when I was about your age and you know what? The majority of women get them, skinny and big alike. So if a guy is turned off by them, he's not worth your time. Not any girl's time, for that matter.
