Trolling back so that I can have the witty last word, I think the women Pirate talks to are not only sluts, but also horrible judges of size. They say women can often be off by as much as 2 inches. Gee, saying that your women are off by the standard 1.5 inches, that would mean an average of 5.5 right? That sounds a bit like the statistical average doesn't it? They aren't any better judges of size than you are. Unless they roam with a tape measure, they don't have a clue. And the guys you talk to, are just as likely to incorrectly estimate or lie about their size for personal reasons. I'm 6 and some change, I tell people I'm 6.5 because how are they going to tell?

reader, anonymous, writes (7 March 2011): What I'm saying is, based on what I've heard from women, ones I dated and ones who were just buddies, yeah, 6 inches may be the average as determined by clinical studies, but I think a lot of women think that's a bit below average becuase they've seen mostly bigger. And I suspect that has a lot to do with the likelihood that guys with tiny wangs are probably not getting laid as much...due mostly to insecurities like we read here every day.
Truth is, I have no idea. I'm on the wide side of average, and no woman has ever told me I'm small. I've had a few tell me I'm thick, and even a few uttered something about my "big dick" during sex, but I am convinced it was just to boost my ego...I do not consider myself "big". But on the flip side, I've had the misfortune of finding out that one of them preferred bigger. Not that I was inadequate, but I think women look for the whole package. If the whole package is lacking, a big dick might make up for it. I say might.
I obsessed over this myself for a time, and came to the conclusion that as long as you arent tiny or monstrous, most women are fine with it. So 5 inches or 8, you will probably be fine.

 OP, I think what the women of DearCupid are trying to say, is that we do not carry around tapemeasures with us, and every time we have sex with a new man, whip it out to check how big it is.
Every man is different, and will provide a different level of satisfaction depending on size, skill, and many many other different things, both physical and emotional.
We know what feels good and makes us want more - but we dont know that just by looking at one. Good sex is about far more than just the penis - its about the man attached to it too!
If you had a police line up of different penis sizes, shapes, length and girths, I very much doubt any woman would be able to pick the one that gave her the most pleasure just by looking at it.
Would be quite fun guessing tho!

There is no way you would have made a post like that, bashing women for demanding something so unreasonable as an answer to the question. Women are grownups. That means they can be expected to answer a direct question like a grownup.

It is true the CLINICAL average is about 5.5 to 6", but you have to remember that takes into account guys who are in teh small range (2-4"), so they pull the average down. And lets face it, guys with tiny wangs are going to be more self conscious about it, so they probably are having sex less than the guys who are swingin 7 or more. So the "real world" average most women see is probably more like 7". I think this is where a lot of guys on here get their insecurity...they read that 6 is average, but then they find out that women prefer average but that average is more like 7. So they feel like women are lying, when actually, many women have experienced mainly 7 inchers or bigger, whereas some maybe only down around 5 or 6. Some the whole range. I find the women who are the most accepting of any size, are the ones who have been with many partners and know a man's sexuality is not linked to his penis size. The ones who prefer big OR small, have had limited experiences where big was great, or too big, and small was too small. A comparative example is men with breast size. I've been with women from pencil erasers to double D's. Each have their plusses and minuses. Big boobs have a heavy, swinging look that is sexually alluring, but perky, small breasts can make a woman look petite, athletic and like she can be pretty agile during sex. So I think we need to be a little less demanding on "making" women declare what penis size they prefer. Many do not have a distinct preference. Or maybe its a range. I too suffer from the feeling that my GF lies a bit (she was with a 9 incher before me and said it was too big). But I know she is totally sexually into me more than any other guy (she has not had many partners). But it's time to stop punishing women here by demainding answers. This penis size thing is asked almost every day, and guys insist women are lying. Some may, a little, but only to th eguys they know cant handle the truth.
There is simply more to love and sex than the size of our organs.

don't expect a straight answer from anyone on this site. A question like this is shyed away from because the answer essentially shoots down the hopes and dreams of 92% of the male population. While most women can have unbelievable sex with anything from 5-8 in length and 3-6 in girth, the truly ideal penis size than can be fully accommodated by the average vagina is probably bout 7.5 inches in length and about 5.5-6 in girth, as the organ has been proven to strecth to 8 inches deep and 2.5 wide when fully aroused. Most women say size doesn't matter because they have had guys huge and not skilled who cervix box, or haven't had a big guy at all. Essentially the best fit for the average is 7.e inches and length and as thick as a toilet paper roll. though there are obviously exceptions where women need more/less.However, most women really don't care because while sex with someone of that size is certainly physically wonderful, the odds of finding a male with that size and the skill/compatibility to match it are very very slim. only about 8-10% of the human population is 7+ and with that kind of girth your looking at 2-3%. The odds are that a man with that kind of size and the emotionality and passion to match is is just as likely to want to settle down with a woman he loves as the average guy is, so he's not out there making the perfect sexual experience to every woman he meets, he picks one and stays with it. An average one (5-6.5) is totally adequate, just needs skill to work. It has its shortfalls, has some spots it cant reach and some positions that result in slippage, but an average one is good, you can outperform a lazy guy with a big schlong, but if your up against a big guy with casanovan qualities, then your in deep shit. I'm making it a habit of giving some varient of this answer whenever a penus size question rears its head. Let me know if i'm wrong through PM, i'd love to verbally spar with some of you.
