well being a doctor is a very noble profession and i am aware of it..but i chose to do this only because my parents are very orthodox and would not let me go into modelling, but now i have had it i want to follow my dreams and become a model and do buisness studies through coresspondence while working as a model..i said i would give up being a doctor not give up studies.i will do buisness studies instead.what do u guys think??

Well lots of people would love to become a doctor as it's a very worthwhile job and well paid, so don't throw away the chance.

Maybe, though, there is some way you could do a little bit of modelling. I'd guess models don't all make it first time anyway and would have to start off bit by bit and have a day job.

Watch out what kind of modelling it is too, it could be porn or some such thing you might not like. Check out which model agencies are ok.

bluntasaspoon agony auntok here goes... if u do the moddling and the studies then u will always have options

but

if u just do the moddling and it falls thru then u gotta re do ur college. and if u just do the college then u will always wonder what if.

so my advice to u is that u try to do both. you will always have your qualification but modeling can only take you so far, also if u have a nasty accident whilst doing modeling u could always fix yourself lol but seriously get educated and do the modeling but if it gets too hard then i personally would drop the modeling

hiyahh its all good saying to live your dream and be who you really are but you have to do whats best for you. happiness is important in life and if modeling gives you all you want then go for it i know it would be hard to juggle both so use this pagent as a test see how it goes. if your hearts not in medicine then leave it now you cant be in a sort of carrer you wish to be out of day after day it wrecks you as a person and sends you lower and lower. your lucky to have the option of both and it will be a hard discission what ever you decide i wish you all the best sorry this wont of helpped! :) x

Blue_Angel0316 agony auntWhen it comes to a career many are confused espcially at your age. A career is a usually a lifelong choice hoever sometimes one changes their career status at sme point in time. Always remember that what you do now will affect the rest of your life. Choose well.

If you like the idea of modeling, perhaps you can find some local modeling jobs to help you pay for some of your career training or education. You can do the modeling for the fun and experience and getting paid for doing it is a definate plus. Don't give up your studies. It is always a good idea to keep something in your life that is a stability. A good career can carry you thru.

Think about the reasons you made the choice to become a doctor. If it was the money, or even the idea of helping others in a grand scale, you had a reason. Don't loose sight of yourself and what you feel about your choice.

I have a friend who is studying to be a radiologist who in turn is preparing to possibly become a doctor one day. She has a beautiful voice and can sing as well or even better than alot of the professional singers we all listen to. I told her (more) than once that she should try out for American Idol. She said she really didn't want to go into that field. She loves to sing but she made a career choice based upon what she wanted to do. (Following her hearts desire.) When you make your choice as I understood where she was comming from I would say this to you.....Follow your heart and let your consience be your guide.

NO matter what. Never give up on your dream to do what you want to do. Never let your studies go. Never stop caring about others and Never forget to be all you can! God has a plan for you seek His Will and you are going to be fine.

God bless,

Blue_Angel

Like another poster said, I'm very jealous you got the brains to be a doctor! Beauty dosen't last and being a model is a shallow world and won't last when your past a certain age. I know which path I'll take but it's you choice!

Aunty Em agony auntModelling isn't a stable enough career for you to give up the dream of being a DOCTOR - i mean, WOW?!? That's just amazing if you have the brains and skill to go that far. GO YOU! I suggest finishing whatever education you're in, get the qualifications you need to be a doctor THEN go scouting for available modelling jobs. Don't ditch what you have now though. Just make sure you have something to fall back on if you do decide to pursure modelling. But a doctor is an amazing job, well done !!

A female reader, anonymous, writes (9 October 2008):

absolutelly not, you shouldn't leave college to pursuing modeling, I am 27 years old, now i am engineer with a master degree and I used to be a model when I was your age, I used it as a way to pay for my college, the problem with that is that when there is no beauty anymore you can't keep modeling. You won't be able to model after you are 30 years old, then what are you going to do? If you can do both things at the same time for a period of time will be good, it is hard but anyone can do it
