Just like everyone else says... don't do it!
because one day your parents are bound to piss you off and you'd wish you have never got their names tattooed!

I've gone for a tattoo myself and I would have to say that it is probably best for you to find a symbol to represent your parents. One it makes the meaning not so obvious and when your older not everyone has to know what you mean by it. You could do that just under the shirt line on the back of your neck. It would get plenty of show time but not be seen all the time. It's true that some places won't hire you because of tattoo's which i think is ridiculous but it shows that cultures haven't quite excepted the younger generations ways.
If you choose to do it this way make sure to take plenty of time to think about your tattoo and know whos doing it. Do your research because it is permanent and when I went for mine I wanted to make sure the person doing it would do a good job so I checked out his art work ahead of time.

Don't do it.You will regret it big time when you are older. 1. How are you going to get a decent job someday.
2. everytime you reach out your hand to shake someone's hand, they will think you are a mamma's and papa's boy. You don't want that when you're 55. And tattoo's are permanent. If you really want to show you love them, go get a nice job, be independent and not a burden on them.
Until then, don't do it!!! And if you do still feel the need to have the names on your body, then do it in an inconspicuous place.Like Mum on the left cheek and dad on the right.

Ok, firstly in the UK it is illegal for anyone to tattoo a person under the age of 18.
SO if you do get a tattoo at 16-17, then whoever does it is risking a fine and possibly a criminal record.
Secondly, do you really want a tattoo that says "mummy and daddy" on when you are 28? 38? 58? 78? ..... really?
Tattoos are for life, not just for the quick teenage fad.

I agree, it's not a good idea to get names tattooed on you - unless, they are related to you for life or gave you a kidney. So in this case, okay. But, I would wait a few years. I say this because now (at 24) I have soooo many friends who went out, got tattoos as soon as they turned 18, and now are like, "what was I thinking??". Now they want careers, to be professionals, and it's a lot more difficult. Or, the tattoos don't suit them anymore, they wish they could redesign or rethink getting one at all. I have one myself, a tiny wimpy tattoo that I got at 19 that I probably wouldn't get now if given the choice. I don't mind it, but Lord knows why I got it in the first place.
Re-think the wrists. If you are ABSOLUTELY getting a tattoo, get it where you can cover it up easily, for job interviews, your wedding photos, etc. And as for what the tattoo should say - THAT is entirely up to you and not an anonymous online community! Get the words that mean the most to you. That you will cherish forever. Not the opinion of some random site!
It is a lovely gesture towards your parents. Good luck!

You'll regret it if you do... and if your parents don't know about this already, I'm 95% sure that they won't be impressed.
Personally I'm waiting til I'm 28-30+ before I get any tattoo's, simply cos I want to make sure that its not going to be... as moon river said... an embarrassment at age 40.

My father passed away when I was 17 and I got a tattoo on my inner wrist of 3 stars. I chose this because my dad and I used to love watching the stars together in the summer and would talk about what we thought they were and how amazing the universe is. To this day, I see my tattoo and it makes me smile because it reminds me of that. I chose 3 stars to represent my immediate family.
Maybe that'll give you an idea to think about? I just think that writing mommy & daddy on your wrist could look childish when you're older.
You'll think of something :)
ps - if you choose a small tattoo on your wrist, covering up won't be a big problem. I have a professional job that prefers I keep it covered and a thick bracelet easily does it & if I choose to cover it for formal occasions concealer does it as well.

Generally, it's not a good idea to get anyone's name tattooed on you. One of my friend's has a portrait of her deceased mother on her shoulder. You also might want to rethink the location of your tattoos, when you get older some some jobs aren't fond of tattoos and require you to cover them up. Who wants to wear long sleeves in the the summer heat? Do note that these are forever, unless you get it laser removed.
Make sure this is exactly what you want and it what location. If you're unsure it's in your best interest to hold off getting branded until you're 100% sure of what and where.
