writes:Ever since I was with my first "serious" girlfriend, I've envied womens' ability to have multiple orgasms. When she got going, she'd have one after another with only a few seconds (if that) in between for a couple minutes, I'd have my one "little" orgasm, and she'd keep going and have who knows how many more after that for several minutes. She would get aroused easily, and she'd do this consistently almost every time we were together. I've come to realize since then that she was rather exceptional in this regard, but most women I've been with are multiorgasmic to some extent.As a guy, I find orgasms so pleasurable that I think I'd just keep doing it all day every day if I could. Here's my (completely prurient and unimportant) actual question: why don't women just have sex and/or masterbate all day every day?(I realize this is a little like the line by Steve Martin's character in the movie LA Story who says "I could never be a woman, 'cause I'd just stay home and play with my breasts all day.")

reader, anonymous, writes (15 June 2011): I would agree that most women are multiorgasmic to some extent. But that extent is determined a lot by physical endurance in other areas. In my experience, women often become so sensitive after an orgasm that they either "get numb" down there, or it can become overly sensitive or even painful to continue. With most of the women I've expereinced this with, their subsequent orgasms also become a bit weaker...similar to the was subsequent orgasms for men are a bit weaker I guess.
I also am of the opinion that the more orgasms a woman has in succession, the weaker they are in general. I was with a girl once who I gave 14 orgasms to in a matter of 30 minutes, but they were all "little squeakers" as I called them. THey were very quick and not terribly intense from what I could tell. Likewise, I was with a woman who would have one massive one, complete with the back arching, arms flailing, screaming, squirting...and she was toast after that.

To be honest, though, I do want to have some sort of sexual contact all day. However, an orgasm, especially a multiple, is tiring and can get painful quickly - I guess that's why even women with a high libido like me and a few others I know spend more time having 'sexual contact' (oral, handjobs) than actual intercourse.

This is a generalization but mostly true, in my opinion. I believe that women don't have sex everyday or rewpond to they're urges becasue there is no sense of urgency. They can pass on one opportunity and not wonder when the next one might come along. That is becasue they have the power to create opportunity. Menhave much less of that power. Let's face it, women are approached by men all the time. Most men don't get approached as often. Long story short, men and women are different and have a different sexual need.

 I just so happen to be one of the rare women who has multiple orgasms I love it and I actually always say I have a sex drive like a man cause I always want sex. Most men I have been with could handle my sexual drive but most times my drive was high then there's, my currant boyfriend can barley keep up but since sex is not my only reason I am with people I love him very much and will not leave him just cause he can't have sex at will like me but it sure would be nice. Most women with a drive like mine do masturbate daily but you would never know cause us women don't want to be looked at as a piece of meat or sex fend even if our drive is high but that's the best answer I can give.

Every woman is different, but multiples are rare for most women.
Some women are Anaorgasmic (can feel pleasure, but not the peak and letdown). Some women can not at all.
Maybe the powers that be that designed us, or simply by evolution, men would not be very productive if they had this ability:)
Interesting question, because as a multiple able woman, I do not have the desire to go there all day long. Maybe Im worried I would break it!
Enjoy lovers WHO CAN! I found it INCREDIBLY enjoyable to have at least one lover in my lifetime that had a quick recovery time. While not exactly a "male multiple" there was less than 10 minutes between sessions. Gosh I miss him!

 Hmm, I agree, multiple orgasms sound great. As a woman, I'd like to experience it happening more often, seeing as Im claimed to be capable of it....
I actually did have a few multiple ones, when I first started masturbating. But that was what... 7 years ago or something. And before I learned how to masturbate, wow, I envied men who could do it so easily. Us women are complicated down there, took me years of practice to get it right.
Not to mention I simply can't have one with someone else, I need to be alone and by myself to even get ONE.
So yeah... I think you need to rephrase your question and face reality: SOME VERY LUCKY FEW women can have multiple orgasms. Yay for them. I'm sure THESE women love to go off it as often as possible. The rest of us will just have to do with that one amazing one, then wait a few hours, and then go at it again if we're not too tired.

 I can only answer this from a realitively personal and speculative view point. I think mostly the answer to your question lies in wanting to have sex. I mean it's great and all but I have a million and a half other more important things to worry about, besides most women I've talked to don't like to masturbate, mostly because we feel sex is about the relationship between two people. So if we had nothing else to do, and someone around we really cared about all day long, maybe, but even then I'm not sure about all other women, but most women don't get aroused, or horney like men do. We want it when we want it, but when we don't it's not that important. I hope this helped. :)

I have orgasms, not multiple, and even that can take a lot of effort and can only be attained with a sex toy, not with my partner. After, my hand us left numb and cramped and my nether region sore. Hence why I can't do it very often!
I masturbated for hours on end when I was a teenager and hardly left the house at weekends! I can imagine a lot of women have busy days and cant afford to stay at home all day getting themselves off!

My girlfriend doesn't even want more than one orgasm in a session. She says one is fine, fulfills her, and that's all she wants. I don't understand why, but I accept it in the same way that some people can have a single margarita and other people can't stop until they pass out.
