then you need to go to your obgyn because you can only get a false postive if you have just gave birth or if you just had a miscarriage, or of corse an abortion but since you havent then you are pregnant and yoou shouldnt ignore it, that way you have options

good luck i wish you the best

If you had UNPROTECTED sex 3 to 5 weeks ago and you just took the test 4 days ago and all 7 came up positive then YES YOU ARE PREGNANT there is no such thing as a false positive there is only a false negative so talk to your doctor and set up an appointment. The doctors can do blood work on you and give you a definite yes or no answer about being pregnant and if you plan on keeping the baby the doctors can start getting you on prenatal vitamins to help you and the baby be strong and healthy. Good Luck I hoped this helped

You can only get false positives if your taking any medications that contain something called HCG, other than that I'm affraid 7 positives definatly indicate you ARE pregnant! If your considering keeping the baby good luck and congratulations :) if your not you need to see your gp asap.

Good luck, JD.

LilPixie agony auntPregnancy test shouldn't say you are pregnant if you are not. It does happen but it's fairly rare. Usually the rule is that a Pregnancy test can show a false negative but not a false positive. The reason for this is that the tests look for a certain hormone which is usually only present when you are pregnant.

With 7 positive tests I doubt that you're not pregnant but you should go to a doctor to have it confirmed and he/she will be able to help you with what to do next. And of course, you can always ask us.

EbonyBlossom agony auntIt's not too early, most pregnancy tests are effective two weeks after conception. The reason pregnancy test results are usually wrong is if they don't detect the pregnancy hormone when it's early. But it's not likely they'll detect a hormone that isn't there. Plus you've taken so many and they all agreed. I'm sorry, but you're pregnant. Come back if you need help deciding what to do about the baby.

A reader, anonymous, writes (19 August 2010):

If the test were too early you could possibly have a false negative, but a false positive iis very unlikely. 7 false positives is pretty much impossible. There are health clinics in most counties that will do a pregnacy test for free. A doctor or nurse practitioner will speak to you and give you information about your pregnacy...due date etc. Also they will usually give you prenatal vitamins.

good luck and congratulations, mal

A female reader, Dorothy Dix Australia +, writes (19 August 2010):

Hi there. Usually, to test for pregnancy, you would do the test at about 2 weeks overdue with your period.

You say 3-5 weeks ago you had unprotected sex, but you don't say when your last period was due, to know how overdue your period is.

If your period was due 2 or 3 weeks ago and you are usually very regular with them, there is a chance you are pregnant. Bear in mind, some of these home pregnancy test kits are not as accurate as others.

The best way to check, is to look back if you have some record in your diary when you last had a period (the first day of the last period), then you can at least see when your next period would be due. Then with a 28 day cycle, you would count on a calendar exactly how overdue you are, or if you are actually overdue at all.

If you usually have very irregular cycles, well this could make it a bit more difficult. But not impossible.

You need to work this out first before you go ahead and do any further testing.

The most accurate way of testing for pregnancy would be to go and see your family doctor. I'm not sure if it's a urine sample test or a blood test. In any case, if you are overdue by at least 2-3 weeks you can count on a pretty accurate, reliable result from your doctor definitely. Also, they will give you some helpful advice.

Hope this helps you. Good luck, take care and best wishes.
