It's basically for teens and you get regualar check ups for those who are sexually active. Since then I've been using contraception because I want to be safe, and sometimes I may not use a condom- and yeah I know that's not good (don't have to give me a pep talk about it) Anyway I'm now using birth control pills, and I have insurance and everything. They say the program is confidential, so now that I've gotten the birth control with my insurance will my mother know that I'm on the pill? My friend told me that my mother can find out about it. I've been on it since June. My mother hasn't mentioned anything about it yet. As of now I think that's the best contraception for me to use. I've tried the depo shot, and ended up having my period for 2 months. The pills seem like the best option for me. Also I'm not sure I would feel comfortable keeping or even sticking a small device in me that could possibly get stuck. Anyways would she be able to find out? I don't want to tell my mother I'm sexually active, at least not yet. She's paranoid enough, I don't really want her on my case. As a sexually active teen I think I'm choosing a positive thing to do on my own but I want to keep my mother out of this. I'm so scared.

Any paperwork will come in your name. you can ask at the hospital for all correspondence to be sent somewhere else. Also ask whether your mother will be notified. You arent the first teen to want privacy by any means.
Be careful....you already know what you should be doing. Its good that you are being responsible for birth control...but you need to protect yourself from diseases also...i know, i know, you didnt want me to mention that, but I"m a mother and that what we do. :) mal

If she finds out it would be if she finds a pack of pills. The hospital is not allowed to tell your parents about it unless they think you are in danger.
Even if she does find it you can tell her that you are taking it to help ease period pains as they are also used for that, not just as a contraceptive.

I don't know the laws in your state, but in the UK, anything you tell your nurse is confidential unless the nurse has any cause to be concerned about your safety. She can't tell your parents. As long as you keep your pills somewhere that your Mum won't find them, then you should be fine. However, if she does find them, I'm sure your Mum will be proud and relieved that you are being safe when it comes to pregnancy. However be careful who you sleep with, and if you don't know their history, use a condom anyway to protect against STDs.

Hi there. There is a code of privacy between the doctor and his patient, which excludes any patient ever asking about another patient without their authority.
Your mother will not find out about your taking the contraceptive pill unless you happen to leave a prescription sheet or the actual pill packet lying around in any of your drawers she goes to, to put clothing into after washing.
So you would probably know which drawers your mother does go to, to put clean washing in, and which drawers or cupboards she never goes to. Just put your script repeats and the pill packets somewhere she doesn't regularly go to and she won't find them.
As a last note, you are wise in taking contraception to avoid any unwanted pregnancies. This is a good thing, and it shows that you do consider the consequences of your actions.
Hope this helps you. Take care and best wishes.

Medical records are confidential. Your mom wont find out unless she has reason to suspect i.e. she catches you sleeping together with someone or she finds your pills.

My advice no matter you are on birth control always use a condom there are lots of diseases out there not only AIDS but other deseases as well.
