A male United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I'm a 17 year old male and I'm very interested in women. I don't want to kiss, have sex, a romantic and sexual relationship with someone the same sex. Sometimes when I look at another male, something in my head is telling me that I'm attracted to him. I never feel turned on at all and I don't feel bi-curious at all.Is my mind playing a trick on me or am I becoming bisexual?!

A female reader, Candid Cally United States +, writes (25 November 2011):

Perhaps you find a specific physical trait attractive, like his skin tone, eye color, or hair color/thickness...?

This sort of thing doesn't mean you are bi, it means you are human.

A female reader, Dorothy Dix Australia +, writes (24 November 2011):

Hi there. As you have no particular interest in kissing or making love to another male, and you only have those feelings towards the opposite sex, the chances are you probably are heterosexual.

You might only be comparing yourself to other young men to see how you check out, and nothing more.

It's quite normal to do this sometimes.

Just as long as you feel good about yourself generally speaking, and don't feel that you are lacking in any way.

Accept yourself for who you are and love yourself, unconditionally. Then you can't go wrong.

The Realist agony auntI think that it is more of a comparison thing going on. There is nothing wrong with being able to say someone of the same sex is attractive. It is just human nature to check out everyone around you and that doesn't mean you are bi-sexual.

Hormones.

They can play a part into you are so sexually charged that the idea of anyone helping you to get off seems to be an option and then you entertain the idea of what it would be like.

HEY, I have adult dreams of Alien Sex, Tentacle Sex, Vampire Sex but doesn't mean I actually want that to happen. I am of an age, 39, where my libido is high so it could be a part of why I have these ridiculous dreams that are so funked but I have a laugh over them.

I am a VERY STRAIGHT Female that has only EYES and LOINS for MEN only.

Fantasies are just that. And more often than not, should stay that way.

If it bothers you, just think of other thoughts that involve females.

Seriously its probably the whole taboo or 'wrongness' of it that is sexually exciting.

You dont want to be Gay and most likely aren't so just stop thinking about it as much and focus on what you do want. STRAIGHT Fantasies.

A female reader, Abella United States +, writes (24 November 2011):

Abella agony auntTime will tell.

It sounds like you may be comparing just to see how you look against the other person. people do this to check out the competition. From what you have said I think the opposite sex remain your preferred partner of choice.

we often see people we think look gorgeous, male and female. But because over time we have become accustomed to who we are, then either:

1. If people consistently have preferred the opposite sex then such people are acknowledging in our own mind that the person looks hot. But they know they don't want to pursue the other

2. If a person is still not entirely sure but has up to now preferred the opposite sex? Then the person may think a person looks hot, but then start to worry. Do they or will they in the future feel drawn more? they may wonder will a time come where they feel they may have to act on an attraction, but they don't currently feel the need to do so.

3. If a person is finding that they are less and less attracted to persons of the opposite sex and are finding that increasingly they are checking out persons of the same sex then perhaps the person is curious.

Only time will tell if this curiosity is to become more important as to where you are headed in terms of sexual orientation.

If you have recently had a bad experience with a person of the opposite sex then this too could have led to a reaction of rejecting the opposite sex. At the moment.

But faced with a delicious person of the opposite sex you may lose any wish to check out a person of the same sex.

Please find time to relax and involve yourself in happy activities. And find ways to reduce stress in your life.

A female reader, chigirl Norway +, writes (24 November 2011):

chigirl agony auntWomen look at other women constantly and rank other women as attractive or not. If we can do it, why shouldn't men be able to do the same with other men.

Just because you can see if someone is attractive or not doesn't mean you want to have sex with them or be with them or will fall in love with them. You don't. You just have the ability to see whether another male is attractive or not. So that makes you, say, 99 percent straight, and 1 percent bisexual enough to be able to judge what's hot and what's not. It's a good thing, makes you able to judge who's your competitor for the ladies.

A female reader, misspurple United Kingdom +, writes (24 November 2011):

It's only human to be attracted to someone of the same sex. It does not mean you are becoming bi-sexual. Most women will say for e.g. Angelina Jolie is hot, but it does not mean they want to kiss her. Just wait out and see if these feelings become stronger and see how you feel about it then, for now do not worry.
