Just one thing on my mind thats worrying me and thats miscarriage. I dont drink, and ive quit smoking since i found out i was pregnant. I'm attempting to eat properly but it is difficult due to feeling like im gonna vomit 24/7! Miscarriage has never occured in my family, although my grandma did have a still birth many years ago but has two healthy sons. So should i be worrying about it? I dont wanna taint the pregnancy by buying baby clothes but im so excited i really want to!! Any advice fellow aunts and uncles?? Thanks!!

I dont know if you do already, but try eating what u can b4 taking the prenatals. It could just be morning sickness too though. Oh and make sure you are well hydrated because that can cause nausea too.

betty_black is verified as being by the original poster of the questionI'm on pregnacare now. I've been having the nausea for the past three weeks but since i started taking them i've actually been vomiting. Could it be the vitamins or just my hormones??

Ohhh! Yes you really should be taking prenatals. I dont know what Boots is, but you can find them at almost any drug store like Longs, or Walmart. Im not sure if they have Longs or Walmart in Britain! But I am sure that you can find them at any drug store. As for sharp pains and stretching ligaments, your Mum is right. I have those all the freaking time! When I walk, when I drive, when I do basically anything lol. Your baby will grow the fastest between 8 - 20 weeks so I think you will be in for some twinges, aches, and pains, but its nothing too horrible! plus youre getting a baby out of it! lol.Good luck!!!

I would highly recommend you go to a chemist and talk to them about prenatal vitamins, if not a doctor. I'm pretty sure they'll be at Boots.

betty_black is verified as being by the original poster of the questionThanks alot you've eased my mind alot! I have SOO many questions! Are the odd little sharp pains here and there and everywhere just my ligaments stretching? Thats what my mum told me, and are the odd dull pains just my tummy stretching?? I'm not taking prenatal vitamins yet! Do they sell them in boots?

It might be a good idea to contact a OB/GYN or even a family doctor, just to be seeing what you should be doing to give your baby the best start in life. Many things are predetermined in the womb, for example IQ, so by taking recommended vitamins you'll be off to giving your baby a good head start, plus reducing the chances of miscarriage.
I'm gonna agree with the others on this one, though - just relax! It's exciting, I know (my aunty who I'm very close to recently had a gorgeous baby boy, we all love him) and also terrifying but you should just chill out and relax about it, stressing won't help anything.
Good luck for the pregnancy :)

I know exactly what you mean. I'm thirteen weeks pregnant and I was worried about miscarrying for a bit too. Just make sure that you put your feet up for at least 15 minutes during the day, try not to stress, take your prenatals and drink lots of water through out the day to keep hydrated. (Although its hard when ur puking at all hours of the day, hopefully that will go away when you hit your second trimester or in between 12-18 weeks.) I hope that has helped and I wish you a great pregnancy and healthy baby!

Stress is a major factor in miscarrying! so don't worry about it! just try to relax and enjoy it. You'll be fine!

However, the chances miscarriage usually increase if you're a stressed/overworked person. So my advice to you would be just relax and enjoy the experience of creating a new life, if you have a busy lifestyle then just slow it down a bit and take regular breaks.
Just make sure you take care of yourself; eat sensibly, avoid alcohol and smoking (including passive smoking), take gentle exercises daily and get plenty of rest.
I'm sure your pregnancy will go fine :)
all the best, and congratulations on your pregnancy!
