You know i would try a tampon if i were you. I know that they sound scary but there not. It may feel uncomfortable but you cant even feel it and you wont have to worry about swimming with your period. I would know because i got my period in the 6th grade and i always made up excuses to get out of swimming because i hated thinking about using a tampon but in the 7th grade it was the last day of school and we were going to noahs ark and i was on my period and i knew i wanted to have a good time so i used a tampon and i put it in there and i forgot that i even had my period until i got home and really had to pee. so i would just try one and if you need some advice i would go to your mom.

You can only swim if you're using tampons (I don't think I need to explain what would happen if you were wearing a sanitary towel).
There is a prescription drug (not the contraceptive pill) that you can get from a GP that delays your period however long you take the medication for. I don't know how long it takes to come into effect, but it's worth enquiring about.
Best wishes, and have a great holiday!
