Its not strange because dry humping stimulates your clit and you can cum from it.Sex doesnt stimulate your clit unless you put in an extra effort so usually you dont cum and it doesnt feel as exciting as dry humping.Bottom line: you're normal. Try to get an orgasm before you have sex either through dry humping or whatever means so that you can feel satisfied.

Why you don't seem to enjoy the actual sex act so much, is your clitoris is probably not being stimulated enough.
In that case, try and get yourself into a position where it is stimulted and then you are much more likely to enjoy it and reach a full orgasm.
With dry humping, if you did it for long enough, you would reach a climax.

This might hearken back to your high school days when full intercourse was impossible for one reason or another. If so, it's the thrill of the forbidden and the recollection of those snatched opportunities for luuurrrrve that's turning you on. Adolescent emotions are pretty much the rawest and strongest you'll ever have because it was all so new and exciting then. Maybe nothing since those days has managed to match them, and thus you're subconsciously trying to recreate/recapture the period of your first sexual awakening. So use it as foreplay- no harm in it. And at least wandering down memory lane in this fashion doesn't also involve weird, embarrassing parents, acne, interfering siblings, and exam anxiety!
