But now it finally dawned on me that probably the only reason she said yes was because most freshman don't get to go to prom, and not because of me. Well if I tell her I like her, she's probably not going to want to go, but her parents already bought her a $800 dress. And if I don't tell her, and she doesn't like me as I suspect, she's probably just going to ditch me as soon as we get to the prom. I'd rather stay at home than sit in the back while all my friends are dancing with their dates. Please tell me what to do. I like the girl, but the negative outcomes of this situation seem to greatly over power the positives... Reply to this Question Share |

Well geez!! Don't be so pessimistic. You are completely in your imagination and mapping this night out to be the worst ever. She said yes, she was happy, and of course she's going to want to spend time with her date! Every girl wants to go to prom and dance with her fella, take some pictures, get some punch - I'm sure she wants to experience prom WITH you.
Bring her a corsage and tell her how beautiful she is. Maybe take her to dinner first so you can spend some quality time with her and really enjoy your evening together.
She said yes because she likes you. I'm sure she's imagining her night with you and getting more excited every minute! Don't get so negative, you're going to have a great time and a great night with a girl who is excited about going to prom with you.
Have fun!

I'd say she seems a little overwhelmed that she's been asked to go: I wouldn't worry at all!
It's unlikely that she'll ditch you: how many friends can she have that will be going too? It's more likely she'll try and stick with you. You're nervousness and doubts are all normal: last night, I gave a valentine to a girl whom I'm reasonably certain likes me too, and I was panicking the whole evening!
I wouldn't worry, mate: I think you'll be fine.
All the best!

She hasn't given you any reason to doubt her whatsoever. Chances are she will be scared too and will remain by you. You asked her, she has a dress and she clearly likes you to have said yes. Be a gentleman and take her.
