I live in the US so the age of consent is 18, but I would have no problem waiting, I just want to be with her. Is there anything wrong with an older man wanting to date a younger girl? Could I get into trouble?

I think that it is perfectly normal to want to be with her. If you want to be with her then go for it. There is only a little bit of age difference. So i say go for it. The worst thing that could happen could be her saying no.

sweetie that is so totally ok it's only 6 years and if you just want to ask her out and you are totally sure you want to be with her and not just as a play mate then for sure go for it but wait a year until she's 18 to have sex then that way you know for sure you won't have to deal with crap from the law

States and Provinces don't all have the same age limit, 18 might be the generic standard but it varies alot. Where I'm at the legal age is 14 (sick eh?). Anyways, If it is 18 where you at than you could go out with her and fool around all yous want if you have consent, but you can't have sex til she's 18.
By sister met with her now husband when she was 18 and he was 24, so its basically the exact same deal, they even met similarily to the way you guys met.
I say go for it man, good luck.

Everything is fine if you wait for the age of consent, but you may have a problem if she is immature mentally. That could be a gap.
