writes: Are people more honest when they're drunk, or do they say things they don't mean?Last night around midnight, one of my old mates, who used to fancy me, called me while he was drunk. He told me that he really wanted to talk to me, and that he missed talking to me, and that he loved me. He asked me to talk to him more and that i was an amazing friend.Did he really mean it, or should i just ignore it?

I guess i'll just wait for him to say something while he's sober.

Not reliable at all. When drunk, the word 'love' is often used as an exaggeration of how we feel. It's what he says when he's sober that counts.

I have seen people do this in the past and regret it later. I would say that what he said was based on real feelings but intensified by the alcohol.......

Although it is true about being honest when drunk, it also means that we become a hightened version of ourselves. My best guess would be that he has some feelings for you but got caught up in the moment and suddenly felt the urge to declare love to you. Don't take it too seriously, be considerate of his emotions just in case, but I wouldn't bring it up if I were you incase he is a bit embarressed about it.
good luck

"They" say that when a person is drunk, their inhibtions are loosened. However, they might not be using good judgment.Did he mean it? Who knows? Wait and see if he gets in touch when he's sober, and see if repeats it. Then you'll have a better idea.......don't call him, let him call you.
