I heard a guy at work the other day say He and his partner had sex at least 4 times a day. I thought that sounded pretty excessive?I realise this would be different depending on a lot of things, but imagining both partners are young, healthy and have quite voracious sexual appetites.

It depends on the sexual drive of a person. If he is highly charged, he could do it 3 or 4 times a day but for the normal average couples , it is 3 or 4 times a week.

This is a question I would have asked when I was (unhappily) married.
These days, 5-10 times a week is normal for me...

I've only been going out with my boyfriend for 4 months, and we have sex about 3 times a day... Obviously sometimes it's more, sometimes it's less depending on what we're doing, but I'd say that was the average.

I dont know if that helps! I have a much higher sex drive than my boyfriend and I often feel like we dont have it enough.... :p

A
reader, anonymous, writes (14 March 2010): In my last relationship my bf and I would have sex 3 - 4 times a day and he was 11 years older than I. One day he was able to get it up 19 times (and cum). I know this sounds super weird and highly unlikely, but it did happen and without enhancements or pills. Sometimes people are wildly attracted to each other and this can occur. Now the current relationship that I am in, it's normal for us to have sex 3-4 times a week. A huge difference, it was hard to get used to someone who could only perform once a day, I thought he wasn't sexually attracted to me, but we're in love and the sex that we do have is exciting.

A

Currently in my relationship (of 4 months) we are having sex almost once a day, but after a relationship is established, maybe once or twice a week?

4 times a day! That might not be as true as you think. It would be interesting to find out what his partner has to say.
That aside, some couples who have just found each other have lots of sex. Some don't. The older you get, the lower the libido is in a man. In a woman, the libido goes up. There are many different things. The important thins is that you are both happy and satisfied with the quality of the sex, and that it means something. You can have all the sex in the world, but if it's no good, what's the point. And like I say, don't think that this male colleague isn't just lying.
