If you shave it against the grain (so upwards instead of down), it will shave closer to the skin, and be more smooth, less stubbly. But either way, it grows back fast. And it doesn't feel good, itches/hurts more than shaving with the grain. Other than that, there's waxing.

Don't do anything that makes you uncomfortable. This trend has been brought about because of pornography. Ask him to shave his own parts as well and see what he says! When I say that don't take it too strongly as most people try these things out. The only way is to get it waxed - lots of ladies tidy up the edges that way but I don't envy the ones who do it all, espceially if they are blessed with a healthy amount of growth down there. Did you know that if you have a lot of hair it is because you are blessed with pleny of testosterone? Women have that too and it is what gives a good sex drive. I would be proud and wave your flag as it is! Having said that there is no harm in experimenting.

 Some people just have more sensitive skin than others. The best thing u can do is make sure the area is moisturized, heated up before shaving and done with a brand new razor. I personally trim it then use an electric razor thing (one that is meant for eyebrows/bikini line)...that way there is no razor burn, you just have to keep up with it.
Oh and you could always get a brazilian wax job. About 50 bucks

You use a razor and shaving cream, preferably while in the shower and that will give you a smooth pubic area. You'll need to shave often, as in daily, to avoid stubble.
