Ok, even though im not yet getting married because Im obviously too young right now. But I was wondering... Do the girls always go to male strip clubs and guys always go to girl strip clubs for the bachelor party or whatever? Cuz I always see that in movies and stuff. Just curious. Thanks. :]

A male reader, anonymous, writes (17 February 2010):

A strip-club, or strippers, are for males, quite common-place at a Stag party (Bachelor party to our Allies up north).

It is nothing to worry about. Just a long-standing tradition. Most Stag nights are much the same, though some vary because of religious beliefs, personal tastes and what have you.

But for the most part, yes, your prospective husband will be getting stone-cold drunk and have some girls with hot bodies, but generally only servicable faces gyrating in his lap all night. A decent best man will make sure it goes no further than that. There is also a modicum of pranks to be played. I have heard tales of one prespective husband waking up on a train heading interstate dressed in only his underwear and enough money for a single phone call taped to his thigh.

As for the Hen's night... it varies much more than the stag party, from what I have been told. This is due tp the much more complicated nature of a woman in comparison to men.

We men are simple creatures when it comes to this sort of thing. Women are not.

Aunty BimBim agony auntNot all bride's have "hen's nights" its a fairly new institution, I find the whole "last night of freedom" thing a little insulting, especially to prospective wives and husbands, if marriage for you means some sort of imprisonment, why get married?

Not always. Depends on the guys or gals. For example the last bachelor party I went to we just drank and shot pool.

It depends on the organiser it to be honest.

My advice it not to worry and simply enjoy it. Remember, they can never ever force you to do anything you don't want to.

The last Stag weekend I went to ended up being in Scotland - 12 miles of hiking through the mountains, clay pigeon shooting, mountain boarding, and being strapped to a large inflatable ball and pushed down a cliff. And guess what? No one got close to being drunk and definitely no girls in sight.

The one before was wild - drinks, strip clubs, the works.

And to tell you the truth, the trip to Scotland was far more enjoyable.

Marriage should be a celebration, not a commiseration!

Well in my city we dont have strip clubs, so that would be hard! We often see bachelor parties out and about though! They are usually a bunch of people, either a group of guys or girls, and dressed up in outfits or costumes, all matching as to show they are a bachelor party! And then they do things for laughs, like I heard of one bachelor party where they took the bride-to-be out on a motorcycle ride. Another I walked by in town they had the bride-to-be locked up to a fence and people throwing water balloons at her, just for the laughs. They had also dressed her up as a clown for the occasion.

I once was with a bachelor party where we dressed the bride-to-be up in a silly looking random outfit and asked people on the street how old they thought she was. Then after walking around and asking about 10 people (I think it was 10), we had a nice time at the lake, swimming and having lunch, and then she got to wear normal clothes and we asked another 10 people how old they think she was and compared the two results. That was our version of the TV program "10 years younger" haha. It wasn't much, I know many bachelor parties who do crazy things too. And then I know some who just take a ladies night out with drinks. What guys do I really dont know haha!

The hen night I'm going to next week is at a day spa.

I have no interest in seeing a greased up steroid loving gym monkey taking his clothes off.

Shockingly, movies are not true to life. They just stick to the stereotype because real life is boring.

Most stag nights just involve getting very drunk with your mates.

Good Luck!! xx

Not always. But quite a few attend strip clubs. It's not something that always happens, and it's not something that has to happen either.
