I'm from the UK, so would prefer to hear from British girls, but any suggestions from overseas would be very helpful too :) I know it seems like a stupid thing to ask, it should be fairly obvious lol. But I'm not in desperate need of help or anything, just interested in your opinion. Thanks :) Reply to this Question Share |

Personally I don't like the idea of a full meal on the first date because some people get nervous to eat infront of someone new. The cinema is a no because there is no opertunity for communication.
Think of something which gives you both something to do that also allows you two to talk to each other throughout the date.
I would say it would be a good idea to take a walk in a nice area and then stop for coffee or drinks.

A nice meal out is always a good idea or going to a pub for a chat and a few drinks - like stated in earlier answers. Bowling is also fun, even if neither of you are any good!
It depends how well you know the girl - if you know something she likes to do, or doesn't get to do very often it would be nice to take her to do so.
I was once taken to a lake where the guy laid out a picnic blanket and had brought along some of my favourite foods. Its simple but shows that you take notice of her and things she enjoys.
Have fun!:)

Ok I'm a British girl, aged 24 so hopefully I might be able to help!
One thing I would say is though - DO NOT take her to the cinema! I know I would hate that, you cant talk to each other and it is awkward after the film has finished because you are not sure if you should do something else, go home..etc. Cinema is fine when you know each other better, but not on the first date!
Dates I have enjoyed the most in the past are:
- Comedy Club (briliant date as there is drinks, maybe food and then a distraction from having to talk to each other all night, and lots of laughs so you are in a good mood)
- Dinner at a nice restaurant, that's a classic
- Nice pub/bar for drinks, if you are really trying to impress her then a classy cocktail bar is good
Those are probably the easiest, alternatively a romantic walk and a picnic would be good, that shows a lot of thought and effort. Only works on a nice day though!
I personally love animals and recently a guy I'm dating took me to a nature park type thing where they have penguins and that was such a good date, I loved it! So a zoo, safari park, nature centre etc would all work if you know she is a fan of animals. If she dislikes animals or being outdoors then steer clear though!
There are lots of xmas markets on at this time of year, is there one in your local area? That is romantic and fun.
If you share a particular sport in common that would be a good date, take her to a match or you could go and watch a game in a pub or something like that.
That should be enough ideas for you to be going off for a while! One last thing, paintballing would be a big no no for me, too painful and no interest in getting hurt and running around for an hour or so! When a girl goes on a date she wants to look her best, so keep that in mind when you are picking an activity!
I hope this helps and good luck!
