I used to work in the perfume department at Belks, but I bought all my perfume at Victoria's Secret. Am I a traitor or what? :-)

I forgot to mention that I also like Victoria's Secret... I'm not over 50 but I will always wear their perfumes, even if I live to be 1,000 (as long as they don't implement animal testing)

Chanel is perfect... the last I checked they didn't use animal testing (YAY! :)) and they're classy, elegant, perfect for ANY age.

I say, but her two scents. Give her one for the social moments. For private enjoyment, give her another that will very much turn you on.

Chanel No5 is a classic and works for people of any age. I dont think you should be looking for a perfume for an "older woman" - all scents work for all ages, as each woman that wears the perfume will smell slightly differently due to their own unique pheremones.
Trying to think of what my mum wears for you....my favourite out of her collection is Narcisco Rodriguez (probably not how you spell it but close enough!). That is really lovely and very classy. If you want a more subtle daytime scent then DKNY Woman is nice, very wearable.
Dont forget the difference between Eau D'toilette and a parfum - the eau d'toilette is diluted with water so is not as strong as the parfum would be (the parfum tends to be more expensive but lasts longer because you dont need to use so much).
I hope this helps and good luck!

I like poison and obsession perfumes by calvin klein...I don't think it matters what you buy her so long as it is a reasonable brand. Just don't buy her Olay or anything dire like that and she will probably still be talking to you afterwards!

It depends on what type of scents she likes, if the perfume you've gotten before is a sweet perfume, get her a similar one to that, and the same goes if she likes musky type scents. I don't think it would have anything to do with age ... Me and my mum like the same perfume!

Its best to treat someone to a morning shopping and let them find the scent that evokes happiness, love etc. for themselves. Perfume reacts differently on the skin so what might smell nice to one will not to another.

It is: "Ralph" by Ralph Lauren. Blue bottle. Another one just as clean and sexy is called "Pink" from Victoria's Secret. But Ralph seems to get continues rave and unsolicited reviews.

Perfumes react differently with different skin oils. I remember thinking how fab Channel No. 5 smelled on a friend; but it smelled like sour milk on me!
There is a GREAT, witty and hilarious book, one of the nicest; most sympatico presents that my husband has ever bought for me...

If your woman loves perfume and is of a certain age, she will love this read. You can also use it before you give it to her in order to choose something that you think she will appreciate!

It's very nice, not too overbearing. It's a light sweet, romantic scent...try it! :)
And Escada also makes different perfumes for women, so if Sentiment doesn't work for you, try some of the the other ones.
