Definitely, don't rely on this as you last and definitive answer, you do need the help of an OB/GYN, as the last writer said. I am a 54 year old woman with kids who has been there and done that, but I'm not a Doctor, by any means. You should ask around and find some good, professional help.

Here are a couple websites. You should google this instead. We are not medical professionals.

Yes, actually you do risk weight gain. This is because you are interfering with the natural balance in your body.
You will be disrupting hormones that promote fertility, but that also affect the overall health of your body. By tunring off one part of your body, you're affecting the rest of your body.
People who never had weight problems develop them.

There is an old wives tale that you automatically gain when you have a radical hysterectomy, which can be a bit true because you lose your ovaries and go into menopause overnight, but doctors these days who would do that kind of radical surgery (for a reason) would put you on hormone therapy. A tubal-ligation doesn't disturb your hormone balance, so relax! Just have your OB/GYN monitor your hormones for you and use a supplement if you need it. XXX
