I take it wrestling is your sport, and from what i know of it (just like most competitive sports) it helps to have an aggressive sportsmanship approach.
Alot of coaches including mine for athletics and ice hockey always drill the importance of not having sex or any form of sexual climax for up to two days before an important event.
This helps keep your levels of aggression at a high, and also keeps your mind more aware and alert - as opposed to your body being generally more lazy & relaxed if you've recently released that feeling.
Both of those are things that can be dealt with. If she's disencouraging, let her know and explain your passion for your sport. Ask her to be accepting. If it's the latter, then just make sure you time those moments right :]
Other than those two things, i see no reason why having a partner should make you worse at sports, at all.
Peace

Can getting a girlfriend make you worse at sports?-I am happy to say that the likelihood of this is very, very unlikely. Think about how many basketball players there are out there with wives or girlfriends (watch the television-yep, those are them in the bottom bleachers) They still manage to slam dunk like clockwork.
Also, remember in the movie "Rocky" when Mickey says "women weaken legs?"-Rocky went on to eventually clobber Apollo Creed, didn't he?

dyu think that all top athletes never have girlfriends or boyfirneds!? lol
seriously, the only way it could affect your sports is if you let it, by choosing to see your girlfriend instead of train for example
gd luck with ur girl and your wrestiling yeahh

I dont' think it's getting a girlfriend that makes you bad at sports - just that you focus on her rather then training. As long as you can be disciplined enough to still do your training then I'm sure your sport will not suffer.
And if you get her to come along to watch you wrestle it could even be good as you will have an extra reason for beating the other guy - so as not to lose face in front of your girlfriend.
Ask her out!!

Having a girlfriend doesn't make you any worse at sports. What does make you worse is NOT keeping up with the necessary training/practice.
Sometimes, getting a girlfriend and falling in love changes your priorities and you can end up focussing on her and going out, and enjoying yourself more than focussing on sports, hobbies and interests.
However, it's up to you to maintain your own interests. If wrestling is your ticket to college and you really enjoy it then getting a girlfriend should make absolutely no difference. As long as YOU take the time to keep up with the training and practice.
If you get a girlfriend then she should be aware that wrestling is part of who you are and what you like, and the same goes the other way. To be in a good/healthy relationship you both have to maintain your own sports, interests and hobbies and rather than both of you becoming one, you should be more like two individuals who overlap.
In short; NO, HAVING A GIRLFRIEND DOESN'T MAKE YOU BAD AT SPORTS. Look at all the superstar sportsmen and women. They're NOT all single are they?
