This is not a relationship question. I was just wondering if there's an agony aunt who speaks French as a native speaker and wishes to practice Spanish. If there is anyone, would that person be willing to receive messages off and on, so that we could both perfect our language skills?

Danielepew agony aunt"Quidquid latinum dictum est, altum viditur", which, I understand, means "if you say something in Latin, it sounds important".

No, I can't dance the Sirtaki, Big Sis. Care to teach me how?

Tell me the steps and I might just enjoy life as much as good ol' (very ol') Anthony Quinn.

Danielepew agony auntWell, actually, I have a good story about sign language, Eyes :-). A group of Americans is documenting the birth of a language, the Nicaraguan sign language. This is the first time in history that scientists can do that. I was there :-), helping them translate from English into Spanish, and viceversa, while another girl translated to and from sign language :-).

A reader, anonymous, writes (4 August 2008):

I wish I could also join in, but I'm useless at English, my French is worse, and I'm learning Brazilian portuguse but I stink at that. I had friends over last week from Brazil and France. That was really fun, I was talking bad portuguse to the French, answering in baby French to the English and to the Brazillian's, I just nodded and smiled a lot... I wish you three good luck... I'm having problems here myself, and am going back to English just to be safe. Maybe when you all get to be experts you might spend some time helping me out. :(

Danielepew agony auntI don't know a lot of French. I finished the course, but frankly I need to practice the language a lot. Maybe the three of us can help one another out. I will send you two a private e-mail. Thanks a bunch for answering!

A female reader, PsyCookie United States +, writes (4 August 2008):

PsyCookie agony auntI know Spanish and English perfectly, but my French would need help. I can read some of it now, but I have forgotten most of it because I don't even practice it with anyone.

If you know a lot of French, I would like you to help me practice writting it at least.
