Any 'different' ideas for a gift for Valentine's Day?

Question - (15 January 2010) 3 Answers - (Newest, 16 January 2010)
A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

My boyfriend and I have been together for a little over a year and I honestly love him with all my heart. Well, this Valentine's Day, we decided to make each other something, not go out and try to spend money on each other. He told me he's going to make me something that "he knows I'm going to love" and I really want to do/make/give him something that's different, not something that someone would usually give, I mean, just a different idea. Anyone have any suggestions? Anythings helpful(:

Making something is always more significant. How about making a CD collection of songs that "mean" something to you. They needn't all be romantic.... movie sound tracks, advert jingles, that annoying Xmas number one, the song that really annoys him and you tease him about, the song that really annoys you and he teases you about, the song that was playing that wonderful day you went out with all your friends.... anything, even sketches from comedy shows! Make a reminder of your relationship so far. You can also record your voice explaining why you selected each track or make a book to go with the C.D.

I did this for a (same-sex) friend and I filled the accompanying book with old concert/theatre tickets, photos, maps, bus tickets (etc) to show how our friendship had developed and changed over the years.

I know you two haven't been seeing each other for all that long but I'm sure you can come up with a C.Dful of songs

The Realist agony auntIf your any sort of an artist you could paint or draw him something. Or if you have picture of things you two have done in the past then create a collage or scrap book of the memories you two have shared this past year.

If you want to do something sexual for him you could dress up in something sexy later on that night but I don't know if thats the type of thing that crossed your mind.

I'm sure you'll find something that he will love.

Make him something to eat if you can. There's an old saying. The way to a man's heart is through his stomach. :). Like a cake he likes, or something.
