I dont do that tho only person i call babe is him and some of my friends sometimes but girls. Should i be worried about this, and the fact he won't do anything about it or just ignore it? I call everyone babe.. I'm shocked to know that I could be offending the whole world with such a silly thing.. Perhaps because it's where I live. In the UK, it's very common for people to call you darling, honey, babes and that sort of thing, especially taxi drivers. Take a look at EastEnders, don't they use affectionate terms to all people, including the one's that they hate. Is "dear" allowed, that's an endearment popular with the current prime-minister.
You can feel how you feel. But I think your boyfriend is right not to do anything about it. He will look a right idiot if he says to that girl "Your not allowed to call me babes because my girlfriend doesn't like it". I assume she would tell everyone she knows and he would be the centre of attention and some really stupid jokes. "OK, can I call you honeybabe or will your girlfriend cry. Or can I call you sweethotlips .... etc, etc

I wouldn't worry about it - she could just tend to call everyone by pet names. I know I do. I don't mean anything by it, it's just like a diner waitress: "Can I getcha anything, hon?" Or upper class snoots: "Why hello, Reginald, my darling." Or me: "Hey sweet, how you doing?". I'd only worry if she's literally raising an eyebrow and licking her lips as she purrs out "babe...". Otherwise, I'd stay quietly annoyed, but tolerant of her little speaking habit. Good luck, buttercup!

A

I would be concerned but again, ask him why he doesn't find that unacceptable.
Then tell him you do.
I'd be upset if another woman called my Fiance Babe, Honey, Sweetie and if it wasnt his Mother.

I call most folks babe or sweetie or darling... it does not mean anything much to be honest...
I would not be worried..

I agree. I know a lot of people that call friends (Boy and girl) honey and babe. It's just the way they are. And if you trust and love him then it shouldn't matter. Now if he is calling her anything similar you might want to be worried.
