It's a trade-off.
On the one hand, nobody knows how to touch you as well as you do, knows when to speed up, when to slow down, when to change and when to keep doing what you're doing.
Good communication skills help here, to make it as effective with a partner as on your own.
On the other hand, a good partner has the advantage of being able to touch you with his mouth, something very effective that you can't do, plus has the element of anticipation and surprise, and hopefully can make you feel more desired and sexy.
As a general answer, I'd say to expect it to take longer, but as you get more comfortable communicating what you want, and as you partner(s) get more loving and skilled, it can be faster (and certainly better when you reach orgasm).

Its a proving fact for most women, (and I mean the are very few lucky women that can) it is very hard to climax with intercourse alone. Most women get an orgasm by oral sex or masturbating during sex. And nobody knows your body better than you do.
