It's hard to know if your hymen has been broken. I broke mine and didn't even know it but my doctor said I didn't have it anymore when I got my first female checkup as a teen. I was a virgin. Sex might hurt depending on how nervous you are. When you are nervous your muscles tighten up and then it can hurt. When I get checkups and they insert that whatever thing into me, it hurts even though I'm not a virgin and my doctor always tells me to breath and relax. If you are relaxed you might feel some discomfort but you shouldn't feel too much pain unless you are all tensed up.

Often times it hurts the first time, but it's possible for it not to hurt. The biggest reason it hurts a lot the first time is because the girl isn't properly turned on, especially because she's nervous and wants to "get it over with." So make sure you are totally turned on and that the guy can easily fit at least two fingers in while doing foreplay. When you are adequately turned on your vagina expands by getting larger in diameter and longer in length to accommodate the penis. It also creates a lubricant. Both are important in having not only comfortable but pleasurable sex. If you are adequately turned on it shouldn't hurt too much. If you aren't turned on, it will hurt whether or not you're a virgin.

Don't worry about the pain. It's not shocking or overwhleming and you can take it as slow as you want and after a few minutes after y ou get used to it, the pain turns into pleasure.
Just please be sure that you're ready for this before you do it and use protection.
Have fun.

If you are really in between the age of 16-17, I believe your hymen is already gone. That can naturally break and eventually be gone entirely with age. No, you don't have a hymen. Sex only hurts when you haven't really been prepped beforehand. I would experiment with a couple fingers first, then you'll be fine. Make sure to ask the guy to take it easy until you adjust. Sex can definitely be uncomfortable the first few times. Just have a caring partner and PROTECTION handy. I'm sure you'll be fine.
