Morning sex is better anyway.
Most men of any age have morning erections... it's called "Morning Glory" use it for all it's worth.
at 40 him being soft during sex could be
stress/nerves
drugs/alcohol
medical (high blood pressure or diabetes)
and a medical work up with an urologist is in order.... he is due for his first baseline prostate exam anyway....

It may play into his mind during sex with you and psyche him out. How old was your last partner? Does he know about him?

It's certainly not that he's not attracted to you - he is. but it could be a mixture of age and stress. I'm afraid it's something that he has to deal with alone. So if he thinks it's a problem, he needs to go to a doctor and get it seen to.
Whatever he does though, it's not down to you, and it's not your fault either.

That is most likely an age thing and could be a little due to stress. I don't think it would have anything to do with you.
