Why don't boys want to kiss me?

A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

so... i'm about to turn 16 and i mean ive had plenty of chances but whenever a boy wants to kiss me they either think i wont want to, think it will be awkward after because ive neve kissed anyone, or believe its better if we dont because i deserve a better first kiss than them.

what does that even mean?

i mean its their own choice... and of course they dont tell me right away.. just later on... and now this has resulted in me still not having my first kiss... which doesnt make any sense because all of the boys ive liked are really flirty and always call me beautiful and gorgeous (even though i laugh when they say it which i guess makes them mad) but then either back out when they're about to make a move and then whine to their friends (who are also my friends thats how i know) about it or are to shy to try at all..

does this make me a complete loser?

(sorry its so long im just really confused...)

Phsyciatrist-to-be agony auntWhoah! Slow down! Just because you've not had your first kiss doesn't make you a loser! I haven't been in a relationship yet, and look at me!

Oh, right...

Well, anyways, no you're not a loser. To me, it just sound's like bad luck: the guy changes his mind, thinks you'll find it awkward... etc.

Well, I wouldn't worry. You say you've have plenty of chances: next time one comes around, YOU make the move. Don't fall under the old belief that the guy has to initiate everything: whilst you should both have a choice in the matter, SOMEONE will have to start it all, else you won't get anywhere!

Chin up, and good luck! :)

pancakes rule agony auntYou are not a complete loser. I think you should make a move instead of waiting for them. You could take a stand and go on a date with someone you'd like to kiss, although loads of people will say how awful first kisses tend to be, most people i know's first kiss went quite well. If the guy knows your up for a kiss, then he'll probably jump at the chance(just the way guys are).

good luck
