Perhaps you should read the book 'Animal Farm'
Humans are naturally greedy...Therefore other people get hurt along the way in one persons pursuit to get what they want. Sometimes we mis-use eachother because of hatred, and such feelings, for revenge or to see someone suffer as much as they made us suffer.

 The cookie was more meant like an example. Personally I would have shared the cookie.
There's a lot of things that are wrong in the world and there is a lot of things that are right in the world.
As a normal person the only thing you can do is live life according to your conscience and be a good role model to your children. Try not to invest in companies that make money out of things that you would view as harmful and perhaps give money to those who need it, or do charity work.
You can't change the world on your own, but you can make sure that you don't do damage to it. And if enough people would avoid doing damage, the world would be a better place.

but you know i really dont under stand that some thing or god give us life and we do shaire the earth with animals trees and i can relly see that they are so much better in shairing , and if i have a cookie and your are siting with me i will give it to you if i see that you need help i will do help and think also of your probles its just making me mad not knoing what is what really with peopl.

That is a very big question which probably has many aspects to take into consideration.
1. Gotta look out for number one. To most people the person himself is going to be the most important. This means that if you and I are sitting at a table and there's only one cookie on the table, I'm going to eat that cookie, because to me I'm most important and that cookie is instant pleasure. If I decide to give you the cookie, it's probably because giving gives me more pleasure than eating the cookie would.
2. Fears and insecurities. This ties into the first point, but it's more about defense. I cannot show myself to be weak because I'm afraid that other people will take advantage of me. I will go to great lengths to be the one that always abandons, never the one to be abandoned.
3. Recognition. If other people will think I'm strong they will respect me. By hurting people I will be perceived as cool by my peers. If I tell my boss how my co-worker screwed stuff up, he will surely think that I'm the better worker.
4. Financial motives. If I kill off my uncle I can inherit the money.
5. Sex. Sure, that girl I'm with is really nice and everything, but I would like to have a go with that saucy wench I'm working with. It would just be a small thing. My girlfriend will never find out.
There's probably quite a few more reasons why people behave badly towards each other, but as an overall rule I would say that an individual always knows what is accepted by his peers, but sometimes his needs are stronger and thus he commits an act which would be frowned upon by society.
