A female reader, anonymous, writes (23 May 2012):

My bf and i tried for two years before we got pregnant. He took a fertility test, has low sperm count. I took one and everything was normal. He tried a new position and that night, according to the doctors, is when we concieved. Take some home tests. Maybe some medical counseling.

In reality, there’s very little to advise you about hear. You cannot tell just by yourselves whether the problem is with you, her, or if indeed there is a problem at all. You will need to seek medical advice to find out what’s going on and get the answers you want.

I wish you all the very best.

So_Very_Confused agony auntWhat Cindy said.

If you have been trying for a year and she's not getting pregnant then you need to see a specialist. It could be you, it could be her or it could be like a friend of mine and both of you are fine but together it does not work right.. they had SIX rounds of invitro over three years before she got pregnant.

A female reader, CindyCares Italy +, writes (22 May 2012):

CindyCares agony aunt You need to see a doctor, a fertility specialist actually, this is the only way to find out what's the problem.

The fact that your wife has regular menstrual cycles does not indicate at all that she is free of fertility issues and neither that you must be the origin of the problem.

You need to be both tested to find out what's going on.
