I have seen sport shorts and cutoffs and they all seem to be extemely short, to the point that their cheeks are hanging out. I have also seen dresses that barely cover their butts. In fact one time a girl hugged her boy friend and her bare cheeks showed from her dress!! I don't know if they are even wearing panties or not. I know this may be sexy to some but it could be trouble for others. What are your comments. Reply to this Question Share |

I too have noticed these extremely short shorts, and really, the only time it has ever bothered me is when the girls wearing them are clearly VERY young... like 13-15 years old, young. Otherwise, I don't much care either way. It's not something I'd be comfortable wearing personally, but if someone else is, more power to em.

Eh, not just young spring chicks are baring their bum!! I was in the store grocery shopping and saw this middle aged woman in shorts that wear on the edge of her rear!!
IMO, it's tacky..there's no fashion sense behind it. Not even common sense. I believe these girls, over even older women learn this sense of erm, "style" from their mothers, sisters, female cousins. There's some sort of strong physical influence that shows them, it's socially acceptable to dress that way.
It's that attitude, "If you got it, flaunt it." Sometimes women who don't have it, flaunt it anyway.

Say all you want about fashion, styles and tastes at the end of the day it's all a competition to attract the opposite sex. Women and men wear clothes to show off our attractive qualities to the opposite sex. Some women want to titillate men sexually and show their asses, legs and boobs, some guys will wear tank tops to show their well formed biceps and shoulder muscles, or big gold chains and expensive designer clothes to show success and wealth.
I guess a girl who wears clothes so short that you can see her ass must be proud of her ass and happy to show it off. I don't see anything wrong with it to be honest because I see it as a sign of confidence and being self-assured.

My comments? YOU wear what you like and what you think looks good on you.... and.... whatever OTHER women are wearing is THEIR BUSINESS.... and whether or not they look good is none of YOUR business......

It's called fashion.. And perhaps a case of tacky taste. On the other hand... If you have the body to wear it, why not "flaunt" it? I mean sure you can do it in a WAY more tasteful way, for sure, but you are BOUND to grab attention (good & bad) by wearing less rather then more.
Remember a few years back when it was "fashionable" for young female "celebs" to flash their ladybits?
I don't let my children wear "sexy" clothes because I find it disgusting to sexualize kids. That doesn't mean I "make" them wear nun's habits or sack cloth.
*shrug* I don't really worry to much about what others wear. Whatever floats their boat.
But I don't believe that ANYONE is "asking" for trouble by wearing skimpy clothes. I don't think the clothes worm by a woman could ever justify rape/harassment or violence against her.

Fashion. People were shocked in the 60's when the first miniskirts were worn as well. Maybe we'll end up walking around nude soon, wouldn't that be nice?
I do think certain clothing becomes.. well, tacky at a point. But young folks are too interested in being up to date about what's "in" to bother about their cheeks hanging out.

Well I agree with you, it's getting a bit too far in the name of fashion and it could spell trouble. I don't know what the parents are doing, I mean, I had all MY clothes monitored by my mum when I was growing up. Its "cool" to be steeped in fashion and wear what's hot and happening, but its even cooler to be concerned about personal safety. One should never attract negative attention in the name of fashion.

That's this summers fashion. Read any woman's magazine at the moment and that's what they're saying. I found this out by reading the fashion section of the newspaper last sunday. It also gave the editor the opportunity to print lots of pictures of 14 year old girl's butts, which i'm sure she was thrilled about.
That also means that lots of the clothes shops are selling clothes for girls cut like this at the moment. That's the business:
- Find a 'look' that hasn't been done for a while
- Get all the magazines to say it's this seasons 'must have'
- Get a few celebrities to wear it
- All the clothes shops stock their racks with variations on a theme
- Make money. It's only about the money.
This stuff is all arranged more than a year in advance. The factories in India were making these short-shorts last year and getting them into container ships well before anyone 'knew' they'd be fashionable ;)
The one mercy is that in about 3 to 6 months they'll be selling something else. Ankle-length black dresses maybe!?

I saw this girl probably about a month ago, she was probably 12 or 13. Her shorts were so short, her buttcheeks were literally hanging out. I don't know what her parents were thinking! She is my cousin's next door neighbor and she'll come over to play/hangout whatever they do. And I was just amazed.
My shorts aren't particularly long, but I pull them down so my buttcheeks aren't hanging out, especially in public. If the girls are young, their parents should enforce it. I know they'll say, "But that's how they're making shorts." The majority of them are, but there are longer ones (I shop all the time, I know this). If they're adults, then it's just tacky and poor fashion sense. Even if it's "trendy," most respectable girls will find longer shorts or order them a little bigger so they can pull them down a little.

If it's on TV or in the movies, then people will follow it. Short skirts have been in and out of fashion since people first wore clothes...I guess people just like to follow fashion...whats the alternative?
There isn't one.

It's a combination of sex sells and fashion all wound together. Those girls will grow up one day and look back on their fashion sense with distain or amusement but in the mean time they need to express themselves in the best way they know how. Hard to accept but fighting it is like hitting your head against a wall.
