My boyfriend looked after my house while I was away, and he decorated parts of my house and bought new furniture, as a surprise, but I have to pay the bill. It made me feel angry. What should I say to him? I don't want to hurt his feelings but don't like him doing it. Reply to this Question Share |

Hi there
I can understand that you are angry. You should definitely tell him how you feel but keep in mind that he was probably trying to make you happy. If you are happy to pay for your home's new look then do so, but make sure he doesn't do it again. He shouldn't be telling you what to do with your money in any way. If you are not happy to pay, tell him that you hadn't budgeted for this expense and see if you can explain why you wont pay.
Good Luck

You shouldnt have to foot bills when you didnt ask your boyfriend to decorate your house. If he did this project then it's his responsibility to pay the bills of the supplies he used to decorate your house. Next time he plans to do something major like that he needs to clear it with you first.
