I realise this ain't a normal relationship question..etc.. but I need help.

I am so confused. I am transtioning into Sixthform in August and am confused of what to do with my life. I did want to be a games designer, but found out it wasn't for me, then a teacher - but the idea of staying in one place for years/same job puts it off. I used to act, and few months ago, I had a gut feeling out of nowhere to act and that I could, so I decided that I will follow my instinct. But my family mock that decision, still believe I will be a teacher or something in IT just because I am good at it. - But I don't want to be sterotyped into that. I really want to prove them wrong and do it but im just so confused.

you can always retrain as a teacher later, but once you get into a 'normal' job you'll just be too busy to break into acting

your family/friends/teachers will all want what is best for you - which is the steady job at something you're good at - but if you do not try and go for your dream you might end up feeling bitter and angry with them.

You have a couple of years to play with your life - my advice is to go ahead and do what you want for a couple of years before you settle down. I do suggest though that you go for it properly and sort out auditions for drama school and acting classes so you have the best chance of achieving your dream and aren't just wasting your time.

Good luck!

x Chrissy x agony auntHey,

My advice to you is to follow your dreams and they might get you somethere you much rather be than where you are at the moment, even if it was not you actual dream. You are really young and you have loads of time to find out what you want to do with you life, dont do anything because somebody tells you to, do it because you want to and that should be your only reason as to why you should do anything in your life.

Good Luck .

You can make it happen if you try.

You may only be young once, but you need to earn your living and enjoy yourself at your work.

To thine own self be true, don't try and prove anything to others. Consider if you have the talent and more importantly the drive to take up acting as a career, otherwise try out behind the scenes work, and continue your studies in the meantime. You'll get there.

willywombat agony auntSWEETHEART, FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS YOU ARE ONLY YOUNG ONCE. bUT DON'T JUST ASY YOU WANT TO ACT *MAKE IT HAPPEN*.

yOU NEED TO LOOK SERIOUSLY AT GETTING INTO A LOCAL DRAMA GROUP OR FOR LESSONS (whoops, caps lock) and not just sit back. Carry on with your studies to fall back on if you don't like acting (or it doesn't like you).

I am traing for the 3rd career in my life and I am 35. Stop worrying and have a go.....

Good luck x
