 sounds like its just awkward because you both realize the affections between you two and that tends to make both parties nervous as you are both somewhat unsure of what to say so you just kind of pick at topics to keep up a semblance of conversation
just pick a topic you both know, even if its a teacher you two both have or some homework assignment and just build up conversation from there and let it flow

reader, anonymous, writes (12 December 2008): As awkard as it might be, I think you should just try to talk to her like everything is ok. Her friend said that she wanted to get to know a lil better before you all go out, so therefore you wait right? No problem on that.
But You don't want to make it awkard? It's not awkward unless you make it awkward. I mean it'll be a lil weird just coming up to her after 2 days without talking to her, and try to make conversation, but as long as you keep the conversation going it should be fine.
